Request for opinions and suggestions.

I have been on here for just under a year and I have learned a lot and I have been entertained and I have had to scratch my head a time or two. I have made some mistakes, as a lot of noobs do, and I have made some really good friends here. Now comes the time when I am turning to the GFY community for an opinion. Because I am new I really do not know all the answers and hopefully as a collective GFY can provide some insight.

What is more important?

1. The quality of the model
2. The quality of design

I have observed some sites with not-so-beautiful models that purportedly are making money and I have seen sites with lower quality design but with a hot model that supposedly make money. Which is the best determining factor in conversions?

I am currently floundering with my sites. I am not getting enough traffic and thusly I am not getting many subscriptions. I do not know the intricacies of obtaining traffic and since this is only a hobby at this point I am willing to learn. I assume that affiliate traffic is the best method to increase sales so in that vein I have decided to get 4 more sites done in the upcoming months in order to have a ?stable of sites? that will hopefully attract affiliates.

My latest project is the site that I have posted an image from in this post. My question to you is: Can I make money with this girl and with this design?

I am open to suggestion on how to improve what it is that I am doing. I know this post, like all others, will likely draw a certain amount of flame posts so I will do my best to sift through.

In my opinion what this industry needs is more open, honest and creative discussion about how to improve so that the new guys (like me) do not have such an acute learning curve.

Well, you know you gotta start somewhere. I guess I am one of the many that has fallen victim to the "if you build it they will come" fantasy. I am beginning to understand just how important it is to network and make connections in this business.

Ok, I can accept that. Explain what specifically you find unappealing about the design.

Don't be fooled, surfers could give two shits about design. If you have what they want they will join, the key is finding the surfers who want what you have.

The best way to start is to make sure you are creating a site with content that you yourself would want to see, that way you kind of have an idea what the people who will join are looking for.

Thanks. This is much better than the feed your models line...

I looked at your site and you seem to have the handle on design and on well-fed-models. So, in your opinion what is the best source for traffic. I know that this is a well-debated topic, but I am interested in the opinions of people who are making their living at this business.

The best source of traffic is SE, luckily, most of my models are actually models guys look for by name. I also have tons of other "free sites" feeding traffic to my sites.
