Anyone get acupuncture?

I hear it can instantly cure migraines and colds... anyone get acupuncture on a regular basis?

Results?

I do not use it on a regular basis however a few years ago I was down with intense thigh and leg pain. After the doctors ran out of ideas other than pain killers I tried accupuncture. It took two sessions and I was back to normal.

Either time took it's course or it worked, I personally believe it worked.

I've been seen some research lately that is finding acupuncture is nothing more than a placebo. Who knows. I believe that the mind can have incredible control over the body when it wants to, placebos help the patient shift their mind into the right gear.

lol, come on...

Good point Sly, but I think there is more to it than that

I have been doing it every 3 to 6 months for about 2 years. I love it. I have bad knee problems cause all I do is sit by my comp 24/7. It works wonders for me. If it's in my mind. Then I thank god its there. Cause afterwards It feels like I have jello legs for about 2 days and the pain is gone for a few weeks if not months.

On the other hand. I have a friend that swear up and down that it didnt help them and even caused more problems. It wasn't knee problems but still. They allways bitch about it when I tell them I am going back or bring it up to other friends.

I think it has different effect on different people. Also it could be as sly put it. All in my head. But when you find something that relaxes you big time. You go back to it.

Thanks Devils_Child

I am considering it for migraines and muscle problems.

I am very intersted in it but I have never had it done. I hera it is very good for stress relief as well as what others have said, PIAN!

Anyone know what the going rate usually is and for how long etc.? I know it will vary from place to place but a ballpark price range would be cool.

Baker Rd 01-29-2006 03:35 PM

For price range, my sister told me she had a 45 min session for $80

I don't use it but I know a friend of mine who has tried it a thousand times... The result was good for him. :thumbsup
