A favorite bondage/fetish prop [PIC]
 

Every photographer likely has their favorite props and model outfits to work with for various reasons.

This is ours.

They're not 'store-bought'. Nor are they replicas.

This pair of cuffs were actually once used in a psychiatric hospital to confine mentally disturbed and violent inmates. Unlike their store-bought counterparts, these have an actual history of genuine practical use.

They're rather funky in design. The straps are double-reinforced with braided steel cable inside and the ratchet locking mechanism is heavy-duty and nearly impossible to open with only one hand.

For bondage/fetish practitioners and photographers, they're about as close to the holy grail of confinement props as you can imagine.

Believe it or not, I watched a guy break a set of those in a mental facility one night. HE was wacked out on crack, as well as many mental problems. They toed him to the bed, and the first thing that he broke was one of the leg restraints. The doctor was saying that he would never be able to break the arm ones, and he popped it right there. Cut his arm all to hell with the metal inside, but he broke it.

Oh, I'm sure it can be done. But I doubt its all too common.

How long did it take the guy?
