Wine

Is it wrong to like my redwine chilled?:Oh crap
I *hate* room-temperature wine, I don't know why.

PamiebDVD 01-28-2006 11:43 AM

As long as you don't chill it by putting ice in it.

Jakke PNG 01-28-2006 11:47 AM

Lol, no. Just keep it in the fridge. :)

Validus 01-28-2006 11:54 AM

Well, how do you taste the wine if it is cold? Same as with cheese, it tastes more when it is at room temp.

Violetta 01-28-2006 12:03 PM

I like em warm. But that's just me!

kernelpanic 01-28-2006 12:05 PM

I like mine slightly chilled. I never bought into the whole idea of how you're "supposed" to drink wine - just do whatever you enjoy best.

I taste both just fine when they're chilled, then again I haven't destroyed my tastebuds with smoking. :)
I *know* it should be drank warm, but I don't like it as much as chilled.
That's why I usually drink whitewine in restaurants, even with meat, since the waiters usually look at me with amazement if I ask for chilled redwine...

Is that why we like ice cold beer? cos beer tastes like shit? :thumbsup

Validus 01-28-2006 12:29 PM

Oh well, to each their own... ah?

Some good red wine, cheese...

Jennyfer 01-28-2006 04:20 PM

I have to put it in the fridge otherwise i can't drink it.

Sarah_Jayne 01-28-2006 04:25 PM

I have always been one that could care less about what I am 'suppose' to do. If I like it then that is how I am suppose to do it in my world.

Doctor Dre 01-28-2006 04:27 PM

It is WRONG but if that's what you like... your choice. Just don't buy $200 wine and waste it.

Yes and no ... Sometimes you are stubborn and just do whatever the fuck you feel like... then you take 5 mins to listen to somebody teaching you how to do things proprely, and you discover the real value of something...

sfera 01-28-2006 04:46 PM

chilled wine is better imo , room temp isnt that good if you ask me

C_U_Next_Tuesday 01-28-2006 04:49 PM

I like mine chilled.... unless I already slugged a bottle down and am looking to keep the buzz alive..at that point I will drink it any way it comes

Well, there is always something to learn but why is it 'wrong' to drink something one way or another? It may be different than how the majority do it but why is it wrong? I mean, I am the one person I know that leaves the pickle on their hamburgers but does that make it wrong?

chupachups 01-28-2006 04:54 PM

No you really shouldnt, though it is fairly accepted with table wines in warmer countries (spain f ex)... but you are finnish :)

Lee 01-28-2006 05:00 PM

Ive got a wine fridge which stays at around 12 degrees although I dont put much red in there ;)

Ugh ? Why would you remove the pickles ? I don't get it... I love pickles in my hamburger

CDSmith 01-28-2006 08:34 PM

Growing up, my best friend's mom used to say "Chill the wine, spoil the child"

I never did figure out what she meant by that.

andr 01-29-2006 03:53 AM

Thats appertain to everyone differently, anyway I like warm wine :)

Brujah 01-29-2006 04:32 AM

Do you drink it slow ? At least then you get to experience the subtleties as it warms.

Yes, I drink it slow. A glass takes me about 30-45 minutes.
I don't really enjoy the 'subtleties'. I guess it's an acquired taste. :)
