In 10 Years...

What do you think will be the new form of advertising?

What do I mean? Well, with pop-up blockers, spam filters, spyware blockers, Tivo, XM radio, on the rise, it seems like normal methods of advertising are on the way out... what will be the new technique?

Myself, I think Billboards will be back in a big way. Electronic Billboards to be more exact.

I think Text Message spam will also become more high tech with PDA and start being Full Color Spam ads, and that will have a run until they start to block those as well..

the form that reigns supreme and will always live on, word of mouth

3M TA3 01-27-2006 12:10 AM

i think there will be alot of cross marketing with products we already buy.

I just bought a fax machine and they were advertising a Postal Mailing machine in the same box. I wondered how much they paid for each advertisment.

Electronic billboards are going to be big until they become a fad.

Word of mouth is one of the very best. Next will be the net. One way or another is will become more and more a part of our daily lives.

Agreed on the word of mouth. Best advertising there is....those oral testimonials.

If the net became any more a part of my daily life, I'd never sleep. :1orglaugh

the internet will be completely different in 10 years so how can we possibly predict what the best advertising method on it would be?

LOL, for someone who is "outside the box" you sure can't think like you are... did you even read the post? where does it say "internet advertising"...

No one asked you do predict anything Nostradamus, relax, and take a guess.

ha ha ha ha, no, actually I just thought about it as I drove by some electronic billboards that day.. but that's funny shit, weird.

spam will be huge:)

kernelpanic 01-28-2006 06:21 PM

Spam, banners, and popups are never going to go away. Even though some consumers fight against them, they're only playing a cat and mouse game with the people making serious money off of them.

The real winners will be contextual ads, both based on data mined from the user, and the context of the page.

No one really knows what advertising would be like in 10 years...
Breakthroughs in technology are so unpredictable.
