Forcing more views to the index page would be my guess . . . or else they just forgot it.

I dont really create new threads.
So, I never took notice. Maybe it will reduce the amount of spir-of-the-moment bullshit threads.

that might be very tedious for most people who are fond of making new threads more often than others.

Actually I think they are trying hard to cut the load.

But with the ammount of threads created daily... less then 1000 additional page views are probably no big dael.
