Aw, that's so sad...only 42. I loved his acting in "Reservoir Dogs" (he played "Nice Guy Eddie") and several other flicks...
http://artem1s.altervista.org/_alter...chris_penn.jpg Not sure if it is common knowledge, but he is also actor Sean Penn's brother. RIP Chris Penn... ADG Webmaster |
FUCK !!!
Loved him in Reservoir Dogs, loved him even in the old days with Kevin Bacon in footloose .... One of my all time favorites.... May he rest in peace :-( |
Oh shit..at only 42..what a shame :(
|
sucks...
im guessing heart attack |
He did an awesome job in Reservoir Dogs...
I think he delivered one of the cool lines from that movie--"Did you see that Dad, he tried to fuck me!" LOL RIP Chris Penn |
dam that's young,
|
Wow that sucks. He was an awesome actor...
RIP |
Never knew he was Sean Penn's brother.
RIP :( |
SUCKS... he was always overshadowed by his brother but he was a decent actor on his own...
Was kinda funny seeing him on entourage fighting with johny drama since he is kinda the charactor in real life just not nearly as needy. (i assume) |
How could you not tell that they are related. they even speak the same way.
Sad to hear. |
I would see him at the local deli here in Santa Monica all the time. That fucking guy could really EAT. I would see him buying 3 big sandwitches at a time.
RIP |

Which deli? Izzy's? They have the biggest sandwiches I can think of. |

True, but if two people sound alike, look alike and have the same last name there is usually a connection. |
Wow. That's horrible to hear. I'm guessing heart attack brought on by drugs?
|
Quote:
Damn, now you made me hungry. Gotta run to Izzy's   |

|
You guys are forgetting THE BEST OF THE BEST!
"Ride him like a toilet seat!" He really did have a black belt btw according to IMDB |
Damn that sucks!....
he was good in reservoir dog (not a huge role actually..but he's got that mafia look LOL) |
Chris Penn had a good part in another Quentin Tarrantino scripted movie, "True Romance" (although it was not directed by Tarrantino). Another big shootout at the end...
I think Chris and Sean Penn looked about as much alike as the Quaid brothers... Penn brothers: http://www.vnn.vn/dataimages/origina...s_SeanPenn.jpg Quaid brothers: http://work.alexbarber.com/pam/new/e...uaid_right.jpg The one common thread is that all four were great actors in their own right. The living:

Very sad, he was an underrated actor imo

Definitely was not "ride him like a toilet seat" .. (hehe)
It was just after Tommy landed that high kick on his opponents shoulder, and Brickley either said "slammin' like a toilet seat" or "drop him like a toilet seat". 2c On a serious note, R.I.P. I liked his work.. |

I agree he was. I liked him and he will be missed. Sad..... |
Roberts had the best lines in that one though.. all busted up, jumping around on one leg, shoulder dislocated, stating "Pardon me, but I'm going to take your head off."
Reminds me of the knight in Monty Python's graal-flick where he gets both arms and legs chopped off and keeps insisting that he wants to continue the battle. |
Sucks, I used to rent his movies at blockbuster all of the time. RIP
|
Actually I LOVED him in the movie FOOTLOSE. He was much SKINNIER back then, and he was the guy that Kevin Bacon taught how to dance :-)
|
Shit that IS young!
|
fucking sad - he was a great actor
http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2006/...8FBG6S02.shtml (AP) Actor Chris Penn, brother of Sean Penn, was found dead Tuesday at a condominium near the beach in Santa Monica, police said. Police said they discovered the 40-year-old actor's body around 4 p.m. Lt. Frank Fabrega said there were no obvious signs of foul play. Sean Penn's publicist, Mara Buxbaum, issued a statement saying that "the Penn family would appreciate the media's respect of their privacy during this difficult time." Chris Penn's body was found inside the four-story condominium complex after police were called by someone from within the building, Fabrega said. An autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of death, authorities said. Chris Penn's credits included "Mulholland Falls," "Rumble Fish," "All the Right Moves," "Footloose" and "Rush Hour." He also played Nice Guy Eddie Cabot in the 1992 Quentin Tarantino crime drama "Reservoir Dogs." His late father, Leo Penn, directed television shows. His mother, Eileen Ryan, is an actress whose credits include "I Am Sam," "Magnolia" and "Parenthood." Another brother is musician Michael Penn. Chris Penn's latest film, "The Darwin Awards," was scheduled to premiere Wednesday at the Sundance Film Festival. http://www.cbsnews.com/images/2006/0...0901250424.jpg |
True Romance was one of my favorite movies.
|
'tis a shame.
Thing is I was just telling my family that we've had some expected deaths as of late. People who are getting up there in years, and was wondering when someone who was much younger, and you wouldn't expect to pass would go. I'm sure it either had to do with his weight, or drugs, or a combination of the both. These guys live hard, party harder and even when they clean up the toll on their bodies is something they can't run from. |
I was eating at Dan Tana's in LA years ago and he was eating at a table across from us. He was overweight back then too and chowing down food like there was no tomorrow. RIP
|
sad to die at a very young age. may he rest in peace.
|
That sucks... that's what happens when you eat too much I guess ;( Big Pun died young too ! lol
|
i liked his work - RIP - sad news
|
No way he can't be dead, I grew up watching this guy, he was amazing..
