i have XM - i like the dance stations - 80 has the Essential Mix on Saturday nights... one of my favorite weekend activities. :)

I have had Sirius for about 18months. Tons of commercial free music stations. Of the two this was my choice. Plus they are doing a nice job of adding new music stations on a pretty regular basis.

I had XM for over a year and recently jumped on Sirius after I sold my vehicle. From a hard rock fanatic, I can say that Sirius has a lot more channels to fill my needs. Plus of course Howard is great. I haven't been in any areas where he used to be on regular radio, so being able to listen to him is an all new experience and I love it :)

i was looking at the sirius website, and they have a little portable receiver...kinda like an ipod

i'd like to listen mainly at home, secondary in the car, and third in the gym

might go w/sirius because of that thing :)

I got Sirius for Howard and love it.

I've had SIRIUS almost since the beginning, and back then I think XM had the advantage. Now the the heavyweight clearly is SIRIUS. Their talk, sports, music and well everything is just better.

More people would have SIRIUS if they'd jumped on manufacturer partnerships in the beginning.

Yeah the S-50 is a hot item if you can get ahold of one. You can set it up like a Tivo and record ( I think) 40 hours of whatever you want. Songs, games, stern, martha whatever.

XM...better talk / sports stations (sirius has no baseball...i need my yankees)...only advantage i see from sirius is howard

ExtremeBank_Adam 01-24-2006 11:50 AM

Our cars had XM from the factory... we had Sirius installed. Sirius is hands down better.

sperbonzo 01-24-2006 11:53 AM

Don't forget that Sirius ALSO has NFL football.

I've had Sirius for a long time and just added XM also. I like Sirius for the Howard Stern show. Sirius doesn't have the same amount of ground repeater stations as XM does, so if you are in an area with lots of high rise buildings or a city not aligned well to the Sats, you'll get better signal reception from XM.

I also think XM's audio compression codec is distinctly superior to Sirius. Both sound great compared to regular FM, but XM sounds the best.

Sirius has more talk radio if you like that. I like the rock stations on Sirius better. I like the Jazz stations on XM better. The pop and news channels are pretty much equal.

Do what I did, just get both. :1orglaugh
