:winkwink: There is a pic of one for those who have never seen one. Of course we only had 1 5.25 drive, and we added that much later. We had only the cassette drive for along time.

Barefootsies 01-24-2006 09:38 AM

15 or so years.

Yep. I remember those old crap BBS groups. Ah.. those were the days. That was back when people were still relatively courteous to others. When you had to make multiple disks to reconfigure memory for some of your video games, and there was AOL, Compuserve, and Prodigy in say the early 90's.

:pimp

You said it was a BS thread. And yet you've commented 3 times more than anyone else.

fuzebox 01-24-2006 10:07 AM

Got a kit in 94-95 with a disk full of stuff like ftp, gopher, archie, ncsa mosaic, etc... Before that I was on Compuserve and before that AOL (like 1991-2).

Farang 01-24-2006 10:09 AM

early 90s i think

StuartD 01-24-2006 10:18 AM

Early 90's for me as well.... back in the Netscape 1.0 days. Funny, I used to swear by Netscape, hated IE... then IE overtook it in 4.0 and then Mozilla arrived and I've gone back to hating IE and completely detesting Netscape.

Rufchild 01-24-2006 10:23 AM

I remember using the internet with my dad through a Prodigy dial-up connection, must have been about 1991.

Roald 01-24-2006 10:27 AM

ssp 01-24-2006 10:33 AM

1994 that was... So almost 12 years now... I used Mosaic to browse the web at the time. Before that it was mostly BBS's but I didn't use them often because they were too expensive.

SilentKnight 01-24-2006 10:36 AM

Old school BBSer here. Was on BBSes in the late 80s - and then owned a BBS before the 'net existed (as we now know it).

Anyone remember telegard, telix (for dos), bluewave, Cott Lang and renegade? :winkwink:

beta-tester 01-24-2006 10:40 AM

since 98th....

Yngwie 01-24-2006 10:45 AM

Sosa 01-24-2006 10:50 AM

xclusive 01-24-2006 10:51 AM

good 10 years+ now...Damn I feel old

Aly 01-24-2006 10:54 AM

It all started on a BBS a surprisingly long time ago... I think it was 91 or so. Wow... That really was a long time ago! ...I hope I've accomplished something since then.

AdPatron 01-24-2006 10:55 AM

1867... over a hundred years ago.

it is and not cause youve started it

but because a lot of ppl are gonna post years that are complete bs just to make an impression. I wonder who here actually used the inet when it was at the very beginning. Anyone stating 80s or earlier posts bs or must have been in the army and able to check the mil or arpanet.

92 was the year WWW was released so say rufchild with his 91 and dailup. Complete bs, the www wasnt even there in 91, Cern released it in 92.

Thats why this thread is gonna be full of bs.
