Sad but Canada's election proves it.. it's better to hate than to rate

Harper wins by bashing the opposition in every single ad and speech that they do.... they don't even mention once what their stance is on anything, just that the liberals suck....

and it's good enough to win!

This must be why GFY does so well.... hate people enough and you defeat them. It is way more productive than just trying to do anything better than them.

Stuart, you have no faith in President Harper and Vice President Stockwell Day?

I am more optomistic.

The Conservatives performed far less impressively than the polls suggested last week, when it seemed they had a chance at a majoriety.

Canadians don't want a fundie, right wing government.

But they had to kick out the Liberals, and it is safe to give Harper a couple of years in 24 Sussex Dr because his weak minority cannot push through his hidden agenda.

I agree!!

We hate the Leftest and thats the reason the NDP will never win.

And after Brain "fuck over the nation" Mulroney... We hate the Right wing zealots.

Canada will ALWAYS be a MODERATE/CENTRE democracy.

But that said, Paul Martin needed to be taken out.
He was too busy getting rid of everyone that disagreed with him.

And there is the biggest difference...
Men like Trudeau and Chretien were NOT scared to have people that DIS-agreed with them.

The proverbial "Yes Men" never got anyone anywere.

Well, I certainly wouldn't pick Bush over them... but...

Anyway, it's not that I question what they'll do from here on out, it's just.. what they've done to get here.

There was no "We will do this!" and "We promise to do this!" commercials... it was all "the liberals are evil, they ruined Canada!" advertisements.

Even if I knew that someone would treat me like royalty but had to resort to name calling, drama and other low life antics to achieve it... I wouldn't support them.

I just don't condone that type of competition. Win on your own merits. Win by being better. Don't win by pounding the others down, hoping to convince people that they could be lower than your own level.

i'm just glad it's a weak pc government. the liberals definitely needed a spanking, but thank god the pc do not have a majority.

true that... although, any majority government is a headache to the people, no matter what party it is.
