The thread was taken down very shortly after posting due to an error in the post and was replaced immediately thereafter. There was no relevance in this action to your post, which was totally missed. Our apologies for that.

The issue you spoke about was caused when modifications were made to our 2257 page to remove links from it to our tour. This was done to reduce the possibility of a surfer arriving at our tour without the affiliate being credited as the 2257 link did not carry the affiliates code. A coding error occurred during this change, that was not picked up at the time, that caused some people who clicked on the 2257 link to be redirected to the tour without the affiliate code in it. It was corrected immediately it was brought to our attention. As you will appreciate we have a huge bank of galleries and a large staff and regrettably errors do occur.

We would never manipulate traffic to avoid an affiliate being credited for a sale, and in fact this error occurred in our ongoing effort to ensure affiliates are credited as often as possible for a sale. The error also ONLY affected the 2257 link, not the normal outgoing links on the gallery. Our traffic records clearly show that the number of surfers clicking on the 2257 link is minimal.

To answer some other points raised in the thread you mentioned, the 2257 links on our gallery templates are the size that is appropriate taking into account our professional advice on 2257 regulations. We feel that this is not a decision that an affiliate should have an expectation to influence, as was the case in this instance.

As for the concerns regarding the email box, all emails collected are tagged with the affiliate ID and all emails sent to these emails are sent with the appropriate affiliate ID in all links.

The thread on your board was not responded to as the comments were not being made in a constructive manner. We always listen to and accommodate wherever possible feedback from our affiliates. It is part of our philosophy to continually improve our business through and with our affiliate partners. However we expect to do that in a constructive and considerate manner.

I hope this addresses your concern, let me know if I can help further.
