Video iPod and DVDS
I know this has been posted before.....sorry about that.
But, I own dvds and I want to get them onto my video iPod. What's the best and EASIEST software for a technical idiot, such as myself.....to get my DVD onto my video iPod? Be gentle, please. |
We have a copy of Cucusoft DVD to Ipod Converter that works pretty well
|
I've used the Xilisoft DVD-to-mp4 converter. It has a specific option for Ipod Video MP4 files.
http://www.xilisoft.com/ (for some reason, the URL wasn't working for me at the time of this post). |
And, both of these products have easy to follow instructions and pictures for the technologically handicapped?
|
At least for the Xilisoft one, it's pretty much load in a dvd, select the Ipod MP4 option and let it rip the file.
I think the Cucusoft one works just like that as well. |

Raven, Rip the DVD to your drive saved as a .vob (Mac, MactheRipper)
Then convert the .vob to mp4 (Mac, Handbrake) Then get quicktime Pro 7, EXPORT the movie as m4v Load it into your ipod :) This method compresses it from say 7gb ripped to 500mp as ipod ready. On a PC look for apps that export/import these file extensions. |
There is nothing better than the AVS Video Converter
It rips to your Ipod or PSP in one step. It's also the best WMV/AVI/Real/Mov/Divx/Mpg/Flash etc video coverter I have ever used. I'm using it on 4 computers right now at this very minute. :thumbsup |
Dino just did a tutorial on that today over at PR, Raven. :)

Hi, Dravyk, sweetie....:) Thanks for the tip....
PornWolf? One step? Sounds like it's perfect for the likes of me! |
If you want us to do it for you, hit me up. xoxo

So, now I'm really frustrated.
Yes, I am a moron, so no smart ass comments please. I am ready to kill. I buy a dvd. I want that dvd to play on my iPod. I have quick time pro. I have xilisoft. I am missing a step. What is it? From dvd to computer to iPod? |
Iwould like to know as well. There has to be a simple way, I think Itunes should have it as an option.
|
Hold on a sec Raven, I have a very easy App that you can use; let me upload it to one of our servers....

They do not have software. They do not support any of the software out there. They say that the resolution and clarity of any dvd ripped into the proper format may not play or look right on a video ipod. 400 dollars for the ipod. 300 dollars for dvds. whatever the fuck quick time pro cost. xilisoft expense. Experience? So far? NOT SO PRICELESS! |

The DVDs I was talking about in my original post that worked with Xilisoft already had the encryption removed. |
Simple question, and a simple FREE answer. 2 peices of software, both free. Full graphical instructions:
