Wireless network question
Is there a way i can monitor the activity on my wireless network? I looked all through the router software and it really doesnt have any way for me to monitor connections, bandwidth, performance, etc.
Is there a way via windows maybe? Thanks. |
you mean monitor all the packets?
yes, get a program called Ethereal |

thanks, i was looking for that too |
id like to see how many people are connected, and show me a breakdown of bandwidth use on each client ... maybe even give me the ability to boot a person?
My router only tells me how many people are connected, but no details at all. I have a feeling neighbors are tapping in, and i have reasons why i cannot change or tighten my settings right now to block outside connections. so id like to go in and see who is connected, and maybe boot them |
you could do mac address filtering that might help some.

if you cant switch your network over to some form of WEP or other misc. form of encryption then I dont really know how much or how little you could do to keep your neighbors off. |
