thats what this script does it creates a .htaccess file and you select which sites you want to allow images to be seen from and which not, the fucking myspace shit somehow gets around it. real fucking amazing....

and some FUSKER sites get around it too...

Then you don't have a proper formatted htaccess (unless they are hotlinking movies).

nudecanada 01-23-2006 06:31 PM

sixxxthsense, try this if you haven't already.

block
http://domain.com and http://www.domain.com

If you leave the www out they will get through. :upsidedow

Antonio 01-23-2006 06:47 PM

if the .htaccess that that script creates doesn't work, simply create your own

when uploading your .htacces file make sure you are in Ascii mode otherwise it might not work

btw some dude hotlinks one of my sites too, and it's been a while now I'm too lazy to do something about it since he doesn't really burn much bandwith, but I think some day I'll change that pic to Goatse, I'm sure it'll look good on his MySpace profile page

Bird 01-23-2006 07:12 PM

Someone should set up, a place where all the myspacers hot link!!! then shut it down so they loose everything

Instead of blocking them, take advantage of the free advertising

Love Sex 02-07-2006 03:11 PM

Why doesnt you start hotlinking myspace pics

Barefootsies 02-07-2006 03:14 PM

I've had to block them too sometime last year. A number of different people were hotlinking my celebrity site.

Nothing like looking at your daily stats, and seeing your bandwidth shot to the moon.

:disgust

Manowar 02-11-2006 02:38 AM

Yep, some of the users are butt plugs

Ace_luffy 02-11-2006 06:09 PM

that's bad

suesheboy 02-11-2006 06:17 PM

I have bookmarked a free hta access tool for webmasters on my http://www.meancash.com site.

Works great for me.

fusionx 02-11-2006 07:29 PM

Forget the htaccess generator that comes with WHM/Cpanel. It's good for the very basics, but you need a lot more to do it right.

Here's a thread I started a long time ago about htaccess - should help out a lot:

ry0t 02-11-2006 09:22 PM

Basically if you're not able to block them using your .htaccess for any reason such as error setting it up, or getting through the protection somehow what you need to do is hire someone to get this cleared up if it's that bothersome.
