Win XP is fucked up
 

WTF ? I installed XP and it converted 90% of my .jpg and .gif files into UPPERCASE - now all my graphics look like NAME.JPG
All my sites were on my HDs and now they are fucked up

Anyone know if theres any way to fix it ?

You won't belieave me - but here in Ukraine we dont have licenced software. No one sells it cause ppl dont got money to buy it. Win XP costs an average mans months salary. so we only got warez CDs

DarkJedi is right. It costs a fotune to ship to the Ukraine. Most people on ebay and amazon won't even ship to there.

I'm sure if he had a choice, he wouldn't be pirating XP...but he's right. No one there would buy a non pirated copy so no one sells it.

I have friends all over the world I ship thigns to, I send boxes of CDs to a friend in Japan as a trade for Japanese versions of rare stuff I collect and you tell me its too expensive to mail a fucking XP disk to Ukraine?

it's not fucked up at all... i have it on couple of computers and it's working fine and doesnt rename any files itself...

it may seem 'fucked up' for people who never used Win NT :)
in my humble opinion XP is just Win NT 4 + support for different stuff like USB, Infrared, graphics stuff etc...
And Win NT 4 rules as operating system for workstations.

What is really fucked up in XP is fucking new interface :) I still like simple and humble interface of NT better...

As far as a cracked version, I had a friend who bought a licensed version then tried to install it on other computers and had MAD problems with them. He thought he had away around the ID key, guess not.

Windows 95 / 98 used to show all files with the first letter CAPS and the rest lowercase. It also had an option, that you could turn off, that would prevent any (newly created) file from being ALL CAPS.

Anyway - don't believe what you see all the time - the file names may actually be normal. I doubt the OS went through your entire HD just to rename files.

Let me know what you find out.

If you were using an illegal copy of XP, YOU may have fucked up your files. On the other hand, I really don't think you can prove, apart from "post hoc ergo propter hoc" (after, therefor because, a logical fallacy) that XP caused the problem. Try installing a legal copy next time, and then you can complain to Microsoft.

He's saying like "Chevrolet sucks! I stole this Chevy and it leaked oil in my driveway."

Which raises the question of why not get into a business where he doesn't have to cheat and steal?
