Who's a Techie?
 

Who considers themselves a techie? and why? Would you be offended if someone labled you as one? What kind of conotations do you think the word techie has in the new millenium now that more people are technologically savvy? This is for brief survey in my psychology class. All names and handles will be kept anonymous.

i'm a techie... why because i can sold just about any computer and most electronic device problems on my own. not just basic problems, things that stomp tech support geeks. i have to have the lastest gadgets...

- i'm a cellphone freak i have to have the lastest phone before - I buy a new laptop every year,
- in highschool i carried around a laptop (back in 1996) and pda sony magiclink (look it up).
- i have a electronic sony aibo dog ers-7m2 instead of a real dog.
- i waited online till 6am for an xbox 360
- my car is literally a mobile entertainment center
- my widescreen lcd hdtv is setup correctly... (i read that 1 out of 2 people have there HDTV setup wrong and they're really not watching anything in HD)
- i'm a gadget whore... i got to bestbuy just to look for something to buy and i get pissed if i can't find anything.
- i get excited when new technology that will benifit me comes out.

i don't get offended when someone calls me a techie. technology is not cheap so calling someone a techie, you're calling them a rich kid (kid in the sense toys for adults) that can get what he/she wants.
