so SilentKnight. you seem like a smart decent guy. why do you think these guys would be good for canada? without mentioning how the liberals have screwed up and how they should be voted out because of the scandal.

i just can't see why you are so conservative when they want to make your lifestyle illegal.

Spunky 01-21-2006 02:51 PM

Good ones..Conservatives will take it this year

woj 01-21-2006 02:54 PM

Good question - thanks for asking.

I'm not Conservative. I voted Green Party in the advance polls. I quite agree Harper potentially spells trouble for our lifestyle/livelihood...but time will tell I guess.

But then again, if you look at the past Conservative history (under Brian Mulroney)...Mulroney lowered the age of consent to 14 during his term in office. Not that I agree with this (and I stress that) - but its a hopeful sign that not all Conservatives are victorian and prudish.

If the Tories go in on Monday - it'll be bittersweet for us. All I know at this point is Martin and his cronies must go.

Wiggles 01-21-2006 02:57 PM

better then Harper, that is for sure!

well i agree with that. im not a huge fan of the liberals but they are the only alternative that has a chance of winning against the conservatives at this point, so i will vote for them. usually i vote green as well. even tho they will never make it, at least any time soon it at least gives them more funding for next time.

if harper gets in, i hope he doesn't turn out the way everyone fears but you also have to remember, this isn't the tories anymore. harper came from the canadian alliance party.

One one hand I'm somewhat hoping for only a Tory minority - at least he won't be able to swing too far right with a minority gov't. But on the other hand, I dislike the idea of revisiting the polls again in 1-2 years if they get shot down with a non-confidence vote.

All we can do pretty much is wait and see how it all plays out...

I must admit not knowing much about canadian politics! But good luck to the winners!

And if you recall, the Alliance party was so powerful - Stockwell Day was able to reverse the flow of the Niagara River for a short time! It was amazing and awe-inspiring to see all that water defying gravity and flowing UP the Niagara Falls. :winkwink:

I am dam scared of what Harper would do.

But i am sure I don't wont to support Martin and the Liberals again.

I can't stand how much they Lie.. its just crazy if they get power again .. they need to understand they can't treat us like idiots.
