Speed up my PC - HOW???

Heya!

You guys have any good tips how to speed up my pc?

I know I should defrag my disc, clean up the temp directory .. but how about those registry cleaner software or anything else that speeds up windows (if it does?). Any recomendations?

Registry Cleaner will help you to boot faster (Reg Supreme Pro). You also shoud erase unused or non exitent file formats. It will help ypu to improve the speed of your system but donīt expect a wonder. If you want more speed you will have to overclock, so the vcore of the cpu should be changed.

for a low cost approach , invest in some more ram , all those speed up programs are pretty much bullshit , while they might increase the speed by getting rid of crap that isn't needed , but in real time the speed increase you wouldn't notice

Reboot your cable modem, then your router (if you have one),hub (same) then your computer. Cleans the cobwebs out.

Get more ram, disable programs you don't need to run on startup

I have an amd xp 1.6, 512 RAM, 160 GB disc .. I know it's not a very fast system and I know it's also important what kind of RAM do I have, what the speed of the harddisc is, what kind of motherboard do I have etc..

I'm more interested in software optimisation. I know from experience that windows (xp) starts slowing down after some time .. would be very happy if it could run like it was running when I installed it. I good year ago.

I guess it's time for a new system .. something like 3.0+ cpu, 2gig of RAM, good mb and good cooling. :rasta
