was windows/linux already installed when you got it ?

i always format new computers/laptops when i get it because i've expierienced that there is so much crap installed that makes its slow or causes failures.

pray to god its no hardware failure.

btw you can go on doing the same with me you did with photoshop :winkwink:

LOL hey babyyyy, whatcha wearing? :winkwink: hehe

if its a hardware failure, i dont care. my warranty covers all hardware plus its within Dells 21 day guarentee thingy so im double covered. (and everything i have on here, i have backed up).

you're right about the so much crap installed. took me about a day to just uninstall & re-configure shit on here. they had everything from 50 "sample" mp3's to AOL crap. :disgust winxp was installed when i got it.

im wearing my donald duck socks at the moment....

i had a problem with my new fujitsu siemens laptop too. the wxga display showed a slim white line on the left side of the screen.

but siemes had a driver from the postal office coming to me and he brought it to them and 5days later i got it again. This is a pretty nice service allthough it sucks being without your laptop for 5 days

there is no key-combination to shut down the screen manually ? (lol happened to me once when i was working an i almost got a heart attack :1orglaugh)

its FN-f4 at my laptop.

did you change the angle of the screen ? if it happened after this maybe the cable between motherboard and display is broken

Babagirls the laptop I used to have did that sometimes and it always seemed to happen when I had ICQ on! I doubt it's something that simple for you, but you never know. I uninstalled iCQ on the laptop and never had a problem with it going blank or shutting down like that again.

I think it may have to do with something like that; could b. Check out those hibernation settings also if you are plugged into the wall i would put the power settings for the laptop to run as always on.

I always have to switch over to my dell 19 inch regular flat panel to make sure shit is looking correctly after designing. The quality of the monitor for the price of the laptop is awesome.
