I know they're effective, but DAMN, they're annoying. :(

Of course this little rant was brought on by nothing in particular...

I could be wrong, but I think one of the main reasons they're effective is because it's so difficult to find the little, tiny "X" hidden somewhere else to the side of the add to close the fucker. Many surfers don't know what they're doing, and I'm guessing their natural urge is to click the add that's blocking what they're trying to look at, so they can focus it and find the little "x" to close it.

So yes. I agree, I hate those ads.
