Sleep is the #1 Enemey...
Seriously. Everything I have to deal with in life, sleep is my number 1 enemey.
Whenever I sleep, I loose time I could have been using doing something productive. Whether it be working on my web-sites, promoting some program or working on music -- there's always something I could be doing. And sleeping takes time away from that. However, if I don't sleep I start getting all weird and simple tasks start taking longer than usual. They say sleep is kin to your last breathe; that's not good |
sleeping rocks :thumbsup
|
congrats on your script launch btw man :thumbsup
|
I think eating and having to pee / poo ruin it for me.
It's difficult / frustrating, that in the middle of programming or architecting something, I have to stop and then try and get my head back into it. |

I have obstructive sleep apnoea.
Sleeping is a real problem.. an hour at a stretch at best. So I get MANY more working hours in a day. But long for a great nights sleep !!! Grass is always greener ..... 2c |
yeah for some reasons I can barely sleep lately...
I sleep like 30 minutes...wake up...cant go back to sleep... pisses me off! I feel like my system is all fucked up... (its 8:32am and I slept like 30 minutes in the whole night??) and I will probably fall asleep at like noon... no idea why my sleep pattern is all fucked up! been like that for the last 5-6 days... |
sleep is not your enemy. without proper sleep you wouldn't be near as productive and eventually get sloppy.
|
Words never rang truer ... I'm finding though 6 hours of sleep is dead on what I need and works out as my 'Break'
The other 18 hours od the day... well I would actually say 16 are spent working or reading about work and learning new things.. 2 hours a day is family time, dinner, showering, etc .. And I wouldn't trade it for the world, meeting some great people and having a good time in this busines again. Only pitfall is my personal stuff probably won't take off for another 4 months of working like this :( P.S. Although I ahte the hours I lose ... I also wake up working twice as efficiently as when I went to bed .. So it makes up for it ;) |
Get your sleep, it will make you more productive in the long run.

Im just about to go for the nyquil shot...
|
don't sleep cause sleep is the cousin of death
|
i expect 10 workaholics to step in and claim they work 12 hours daily and sleep only 5 hours

But 12 hours a day seriously is not that long of a work day for many of us. |
sleep is the cousin of death.

I have a hard time sleeping, especially when I have work to do. Often I will work until too tired to move, then lay down on the floor and crash ;)
|
yea, it's just like taxes, 33% of your income/time going down the drain :-/

I must admit though that I have the TV and cable on all the time in the background and watch the surf and take breaks.. sleep is not the interruption - see my post above. Today a good, and pretty typical example of what I do when I am in country (admittedly I do travel shitloads in between times) It's 2.50am Saturday here. I got up (out of bed) Friday morning about 4.45am. Worked until about 9.30am and went out for breakfast. Back again about 10.30am, worked through to about 1pm and went and had a swin, sauna and spa. Back to work about 1.45pm through to 6pm, showered, changed and went out for dinner with one of my business partners. Home 9pm and worked until 1am. Went to bed and got up about 20 minutes ago. I'll work through to about 4 or 5am this morning and then crash, but will sleep no more than 2 hours (again see sleep apnoea post above). It sucks, but it is the way things are, so I make the most of it. :winkwink: |

Depending on what's going on, sleep drops down to 3-4 hours for me... but other times I crave 10 hours.
Kinda like binge-sleeping after a diet. |
