Google subpoenaed over pornography

Document: Google subpoenaed over pornography

Federal prosecutors defending the Child Online Protection Act, a controversial Internet pornography law, are demanding that Google hand over a million search records.

In court documents, the Bush administration asked a federal judge to force Google to comply with a subpoena for the records, which would reveal the search terms of a broad swath of Google's visitors.

In the following pages, you can read the prosecutors' request, which Google is adamantly denyin

I was just about to post this.

What the fuck is wrong with the US government? I know Bush sold his soul to the bible thumpers to get re-elected, but Jesus Butt Fucking Christ, find something better to do with our tax dollars.

Health care's a joke, social security's tanking, the real estate bubble is popping, inflation's on the way up, people are scared and we've got China, N. Korea and Russia all pissed off at us. Hell, both N. Korea and China have the bomb and they've both come right out and said they're gearing up for a war with us. They're not shy about using the bomb and they control the media in their countries. That's genuinely scary. Those fucking people are intense and China alone has more than 2 times the number of active duty military personnel and some awesome technology. This isn't mentioning the jihadists, of course.

Leave porn alone. We're supporting the economy, billions at a time and giving the people what they ask for. All this expense and time wasted is much better spent in other areas, like making sure we're not all in re-education camps in a few years.

And for fuck's sake don't get me started on child protection - they could not protect a flea on a dog's butt.

Seriously.. is this what the US government actually does to justify their existence? They seriously need fucking sacked - the lot of em, and not just for this, but for their total fucking incompetence in almost every way.

It may be a clue to try and actually do "something" about disaster areas, the health system, the bloody war and 50 other things more relevant than fucking about with Google and other diversions "for the protection of children" when they already have laws for this which are not enforced.

The irony is... there was actually a launching from Florida heading for Pluto... damned odd when ya think they can't even collect the fucking bodies left over from Katrina.

I wonder what they would think, or how they would react if all of a sudden there was a big huge surge of google searches for "Pornographic pictures of George Bush sucking Osama Bin Laden's Cock" :1orglaugh

Was just reading that doc in detail... some of it reads like they don't actually want Google cooperation and just going thru the motions of "writing words" and would be dumbstuck if Google sent 20 trucks of data and a bill for $2million costs in assembling the shit :winkwink:

And.. nada credit! Payment up front before work starts :winkwink:

"Yahoo, AOL, and MSN were also asked to supply search records information, and all complied."

Oh they want it. Little steps, gotta erode privacy a little at a time. Data mining is also what it's called. Once they see something that interest them they'll use the NSA to get the records without going through a court.

Then they'll say we have this info and it's probable cause so now they have a criminal investigation going on.

We the people keep voting this fucking republicans in office. The people that claim to be for less government. I use to be a Republican but Ed. Meese cured me of that with his threat to Southland Corp. for selling Playboy. They want less government for the rich and more for telling us how to live.

And as we all know now, Google took a HUGE loss because of this resistance. 38% drop in value in one day which took the entire market down with it. I bet we don't find Bush fucking around with oil companies. Oh yea, his best friends, the Saudi's for example. They wanted the other search engines already caved and gave them the info.
