Out of curiousity, who has no permanent home a live like a hobo?

Antonio 01-19-2006 07:17 PM

but if I had no permanent home I wouldn't mind living in that smoked meat place in Montral for at least a month (whatever it was called, Swartz or something)

:thumbsup

Well....
I try and settle down but my husband won't. Technically we are based in France but that's because he is here looking for his half-sister. I suppose if there was any place he would choose to live it would be France. (I personally would rather be some place else)

Otherwise we live on the boat and travel from place to place.

If that's the case, I know a few who do that, but me personally no.

je_rome 01-20-2006 12:24 AM

ooohhh...you mean NO-MA-DIC. maybe when I am in my 20s I wouldn't mind moving from place to place.

How about all your checks and snail mail, how do you go about accessing it?

yeah, with wires and epass there is little needs for checks anymore. i still prefer them however, not being nomadic and all. hard to tell what wire is what, when all they have is random numbers and letters instead of who it was from on my online bank statement.

Cman 01-20-2006 07:12 AM

I don't think anyone lives a "nomatic" lifestyle, but I've heard some people may live nomadic lives :1orglaugh

The only time I leave my apt is to go on a trip. Otherwise I'm reclusive. I'm like a time-share recluse haha

slapass 01-20-2006 07:18 AM

I would still need a mail drop of some kind. I would love to do this but i am chicken.

DTK 01-20-2006 11:58 AM

My wife and I have been for the last year and change, though it's back to home-sweet-home in a couple months....

I think most people, even single people, are also afraid to hit the road for a few years....

If you set things up well, it really can go pretty smoothly :2 cents:

LVNJonah 01-20-2006 07:56 PM

I've been in Costa Rica for 6-months in a fully furnished apt. with DSL. Still use American bank accounts and snail mail, so I guess I qualify. heading to Brazil or Argentina next.. I think.. or maybe someplace else... Any recommendations? I like sunny weather and beautiful women.

Nismo 01-20-2006 08:02 PM

This is something I'd like to try. I wanna travel the world and work from hotel to hotel, all across the world. Sounds so fun and intriguing.

It's getting more and more realistic to do this, even if you don't have bajillions in the bank.
