What are the pros and cons of making your videos on your site non downloadable ??? So people cant copy them onto their hard drive ???

Second if you saw a site with a 150 videos (some only 45-50 secs, the bigger ones 2-3 mins) but the site had no pic sets what would you think ???

you really need the pictures to go along with the video so the surfer can decide what he/she wants to watch before hand.... will keep em happy and increase retention

I think the first one works well like "DRM" is it ??? Where the surfers have to join site to view video... however I think you lose a little promotion through P2P... but obviously we can dump stuff in the P2P network and hope that makes up for what we lose...

As for pics... does it matter if they are different sets from the video ? I hate shooting pics and video at same time... video always ends up looking poo... but are you simply saying that a paysite needs pics as well as video...

You want people to download your video's with your watermarks on them !

You want to get millions of people downloading and trading all of your videos because you need all the help you can get to get them littered all over the internet !

No one except a few freaks will ever get every one in there collection.... so as they float around and get traded people will see one here and a few there.... and they will look for more !

You want people to download all your content !

All your sets of pics should be very easy to download also in one easy .zip ( Meaning Each set at a time )

A video 45 - 50 seconds should not be counted as a video... that is more like a clip or trailer.

I think there would need to be pictures to go with the video. It is easy these days to get good screen caps !

But isnt it like Video ON Demand... if people have to join to view surely thats better... and just leak a few P2P ones out to do the marketing job ???

DRM pisses members off - they want to download and save the movies - and as Dugmor posted as long as your URL is on the movies it's free advertising.

Yeah I have heard that :)

1. If I were a customer and your site didn't offer downloadable videos (only streaming), I would probably go somewhere else.

2. Unless you're still on dialup, I don't think pics are a big selling point.

Members get pissed when they can't save things.

They paid their money, and want to have it on HD for the next time dick's in hand, and they are ready to go. Not wait for the download. Especially for those cheapskates on low broaddband pipes or dial up.
