Natural Cures hype or truth?
I bought the Kevin Trudeau book a while ago but I haven't had a chance to read it.
Any merit to these claims? Do the drug companies conspire to keep people ill but alive? |

Drug companies in the US are pure evil. All they care about is money and not curing people. All the remedies we need are all around us in nature, but they are often degraded by drug companies and even doctors and scientists, because there is not a lot money to be made that way.... especially if people can cure what ails them on their own. It's a sad reality. :Oh crap
Prescription drugs are just as bad, if not worse than street drugs. This entire nation is dependent on some kind of pain killer, anti depressant, or sleeping aide that they don't even need. They give all sorts of mind altering drugs to kids, like they're lollipops and it's just plain ridiculous. It's all a lie and personally, I won't take anything other than low dose aspirin and a multi-vitamin. |
That's exactly Trudeau's point and there is a lot of opinion pointing to those facts.
But is hatred of the very rich, very successful drug companies warranted? Do they really shun cures in the face of profit? Or is that really just unsubstantiated myth? it's easy to pick on the big guy cause he can take it. From a shareholder perspective, financial security is paramount, and if a cure would be Quote:

Some of the natural cures work, some work somewhat, and some have absolutely 0 benefit. However, just like a placebo when someone believes what they are doing will help them it does a large number of times. Could be herbal supplements, could be a life coach, could be M&M's painted blue that is the next big migraine pill.

I think that's true of couse. I personally believe the theory of mind over matter. Much of our body chemisty can be self regulated. They say that depression, clinincal depression is a function of blood chemistry. It's reasonable to assume that if your body reacts to itself in one way due to a certain stimuli that a revese or an opposite stimuli should have a positive effect. Ah, there's just so much that we don't know. |
the chinese believe that any illness you receive is because of "poison" that you come into contact with (usually food) that causes.
some alternative medicine believes that a neutral PH in chemical balance will lead to healthy living (worth noting that we have alot of acidic properties in our body) just food for thought. |

I heard that too recently. There was a special on this morning promoting seaweed as a cure/supplement. |

Humans existed and endured without modern conveniences for longer than we can imagine, there must be some truth to homeopathic remedies and cures. |
I think the basis is true..
However, I have a strong distate for the company because my father followed his ideas, including trading in his GP for a homeopathic doc who recommended he trade in his meds for natural remedies and organic foods, and within two weeks he had a heart attack, and within a week from that, he had a stroke, and then another one shortly thereafter. He eventually died just about a month ago. So it's hard to listen to anything the guy says, because I am sure my dad isn't the only one who fell for the hype and then died or got very ill because of it. |
I dealt with the homeopathic/holistic community for a long time. It is full of fraud and misinformation. My gf at the time would give out fake stories of cures for different companies to get a discount on services. She was involved in mercury fillings, oxygen therapy, allergy treatments and test, magnetic therapy, every herbal supplement, etc. There are tons of these people and if something worked you could not keep it secret. No need to go to Mexico to cure yourself (she did this).

its a fine line.. for serious problems, stick to modern medicine and studies based on empirical evidence.
with cosmetic stuff, it wont kill you to test some things out.. |
Kevin Trudeau has been accused of fraud MANY times --
