Oh..... well, it depends then. Do you know what kind of video card it has in it?

just the standard one that comes with it, so i'm not sure.

Best bet is probably going to be replacing the video card with a more modern one. It doesn't have to be top-of-the-line or anything, just something that will support multi-display (extended desktop).

Most likely if it's an emachines box, it doesn't even have a video card, only onboard video. If this is the case, you only need to purchase a cheap card to throw in and plug the 2nd monitor into.
