What the HELL is up with all these 'Entry Consoles'
 

O.K. So we finally start to get rid of the annoying ass exit consoles.. which I had learned to deal with as a webmaster... Now we are getting into ENTRY consoles - has anyone else noticed this lately?

I won't spit out any names.. but I was adding code to two sites today and one of them spit out a bunch of consoles upon entry promoting various options. O.K. I can live with this... I'll try with their way and without. Hell if they are doing it they must have tested it and are making more money that way, right? Good enough for me.. all links are to my partnership code anyways..

Second one... I was jammed with 3 consoles that had exit consoles.. One of the pages looked like my first website in 1997 and I had to close at least 4 browser windows before I got to the main site. This sponsor has great content etc .... This killed me when I noticed it though..

I was rapidly shutting down pages left and right so I don't know if the other pages had my code on them... but if they did have my code on it and it is PPS we should be offered to not run them with the consoles at the same payout rate. Maybe we don't want to piss off our surfers, atleast not THAT badly...

Put all this aside, and what the hell is up with the recent fad of opening multiple windows when a sponsor link is clicked ?? Doesn't everyone see this as the same thing exit consoles are? I mean if they are pissing me off, and I'm a webmasters ... I am guessing the surfers get very pissed also - most likely close down every window open ... relaunch the browser and go to google or type in their favorite porn site's name ...

Granted part of the reason it's pissing me off is because it could be affecting my bottom line however since I have become used to no popups with the lack of people using them and the popup blockers being standard... They were annoying as shit. I sure wasn't going to view a tour related to them .. let alone signup ...
