Company branded "Google" toolbar?

So I'm pretty sure there are some canned (customizable) toolbar applications that companies can buy, and brand with their own company logo and links. But I just wanted to put the feelers out and see if any Windows programmers might have any info before I go to scriptlance.

I'm not talking about any forced install/spyware stuff, I'm talking about a very simple toolbar that will have my Google AdSense account hard-coded in for the search, and will provide relative links back to my company website for support (for branding purposes mostly).

I run a small computer service firm, and I end up installing the Google Toolbar on most of the PC's that come through my shop - simply for the popup blocking and the Google search right at the customer's fingertips. So why not make a few extra dollars of revenue with AdSense, while still giving the customer the same functionality?

Any info would be appreciated.

Better hope nobody finds out about it, including google.

I dont think they will approve of you "jacking" peoples searches for your own profit, in fact, im postitive they wont.

I think its a sleazy thing to do, glorify it all you will.

We've done similar projects before, if you can't find anyone else let me know and maybe we can fit you in.

It's not prohibited or sleazy if you do it the right way. As long as you custom brand a toolbar and are upfront about it (to the consumers) and not just pirating Google's toolbar and trying to pas it off as authentic. :2 cents:

There is a program http://besttoolbars.net

I have it and you choose what search engine you want to use, there is a field for the URL so you could put in your AdSense affiliate URL probably. Its easy to use and has a free trial :) Hope that helps!

You're quite misinformed on this reply, as there are many companies using Google search results and getting paid affiliate revenue for doing so. Firefox alone makes the Mozilla group something like $3mil a year from the built-in Google search that's installed by default within the browser. But what else would I expect from GFY other than a negative reply right out of the gate.

I want to own a popular browser and install an AdSense search bar. :(
