Easiest way to create a sub-domain through ssh with re-direct?

See title, I need to create some sub-domains on a server through ssh. Yes I googled it, no none of the first couple of pages helped.

Example - sub.domain.com

Anyone with some hints/tips i would greatly appreciate it :)

Thanks,
Bill

Yes linux. The rest of that is greek to me...lol

I tried adding in in my ftp client and of course the domain then goes 404. I know there is a way to do it through an ssh client just don't know the correct directory to do it in or the proper shell command.

PS - Thanks for the help guys :)

Well, an SSH client is using a TTY over a regular console (so what you see is the real deal, just the fact that it's a secure (encryped) protocol makes it better than say telneting in).

You will need to as a previous post said open the Bind config file, put in an A record for whatever domain you want the sub on and restart bind. Do the same thing for the domain in your Apache config and restart Apache.. If you need more info I'm too lazy and buzzed at the moment.. but with that info google will help now :)
