I can't use the Nova Submitter. it needs to be able to ftp to the server & the galleries are on a locked box & the box needs to allow the ip of the submitter.
So, don't setup the account for now..

How can you be doing this without having FTP access to your server?

I have access, but it won't allow the submitter, (nova). the tech needs to have the ip of where the submitter is ftp from to set it up to allow it.
when I was given the hosting, I had to give my ip to him so tech could do whatever for it to allow me access.

I'm not following. I use NovaSubmitter and you've lost me completely. It's a desktop submitter. It only needs FTP access to upload the duplicated galleries to your server.

The submissions are all done from your desktop. Nothing is installed on your server.

Oh, well when I use ftp, I get in no problem, but when I use Nova, it says ftp denied or something like that. I thought it was because of the ip thing?

candyflip is right and even when you ftp from a program your own IP is used.

yeah, I was thinking it was an online thing. I tried several times.. got the user & pas right, but nova says password was not allowed, connection to ftp failed? but when I use ftp program I get in with same u/p ????

have in mind you can ftp with any program, the submitter's ftp are like an extra option, not necessary to use their

I think I found out why it's not working?? Maybe?

In nova it is adding characters..

it is supposed to be ftp.domain.com

that is how I set it up, but nova takes that & changes it to ftp://ftp.domain.com

could this be the problem?
I also tried entering just domain.com which nova makes as ftp://domain.com & still dont work.
I had on port 21, made that blank, didnt work.
tried both active & passive & it still wont get in?

FTP server: ftp://ftp.youdomain.com
