candyflip 01-16-2006 01:33 PM

I thought it sucked. A war movie with no real action.

Blah.

jcsike 01-16-2006 01:44 PM

Great Movie.

It showed the psychology of a soldier.

jaYMan 01-16-2006 01:49 PM

I heard it was really really bad ;(

I think I'll wait for DVD.

sorry I was the real deal....and that was exactly what it was.... a bunch of guys who are being filmed "playing" Marine.

Marcus Aurelius 01-16-2006 01:54 PM

Havent seen it yet but I have heard bad things, mostly that it was a boring flick, a rental for sure, but not gonna waste time seeing it in theaters

etech 01-16-2006 01:56 PM

Its not good, its not bad, average movie, will be forgotten as soon as they remove it from the theaters :)

Alex 01-16-2006 01:57 PM

What a horrible movie.
Half the theater walked out when i was watching it.

Xplicit 01-16-2006 02:00 PM

Its in my 'rent it' catagory, definately not worth seeing in a Theatre tho. :2 cents:

The Truth Hurts 01-16-2006 02:02 PM

I didn't think it was boring in the least, i don't think it's so much a war movie as it is a people movie with the war as the backdrop.

if you're expecting nonstop bombs and shooting and shit like that, you're gonna be disappointed.

Agreed, I thought it was pretty decent or at least it kept my attention and made me think after it was over.

It's definitely NOT a war movie with the kind of action you would expect. It's more like a documentary about how today's ground soldiers are totally left behind in wars that move so fast. There's very little ground combat with the technology of the air force now so they're left waiting & feeling totally useless. Most casualties would be after victory has been declared & the peacekeeping troops move in.

The burning oilfields make for an incredible backdrop for a war movie though.

the real magoo 01-16-2006 04:23 PM

Boring movie. Sucked big time

The raining oil scene was the only saving grace.

tristan_D 01-16-2006 04:28 PM

I have not seen the film but I don't feel the enthusiasm to watch it. Looks very sappy dramatic to me.

NoCarrier 01-16-2006 04:31 PM

Quotes from the director : "Hmmm.. Why did I make this movie again? What's the point of my movie.. Hmmm.. Not sure what it is.. ".

PixeLs 01-16-2006 08:14 PM

I only saw the trailer but I could say it's pretty good. :thumbsup

fetishblog 01-16-2006 08:15 PM

I thought it was pretty good.

the source 01-16-2006 08:28 PM

OooRaHhh!

that is all.

reynold 01-17-2006 04:46 AM

It's not the typical Saving Private Ryan or We were soldier you might be expecting..

Sosa 01-17-2006 08:03 AM

it was decent. Nothing great I didn't think.

MattOT 01-17-2006 08:04 AM

How can you make an assumption of "not worth seeing" if you haven't seen it? :helpme

AdPatron 01-22-2006 12:07 AM

It sucks!

Jack Frost 01-22-2006 05:26 PM

I watched it the other night and thought it was pretty good,. Better than I'd expected anyway.

If you like those type films you should like this one.

Miguel T 01-22-2006 05:47 PM

Loved the movie!
gREAt scenes!

tristan_D 01-22-2006 05:58 PM

my girlfriend saw the film and she found nothing special about it.

Teodora 02-21-2006 09:56 AM

I haven't seen it so far... but when i watch it i'll tell my opinion

Jack Frost 02-21-2006 10:13 AM

Good film. Defo worth watching unless you just like guns, car chases and explosions.

Manowar 02-21-2006 10:15 AM

i liked it

dissipate 02-21-2006 10:15 AM

being an ex-marine doing two tours in iraq myself, a lot of it was pretty close to home even though it was set in the first gulf war. overall a good movie, but honestly if you even remotely liked the film... read the book.

loverboy 02-21-2006 01:21 PM

if your expecting a war flcik, this is not your movie
it talks more about the psychological issues a soldier
encounters while in actual combat

:smokin
