Buying fine art, collectibles in general...
Everyday while shopping on Ebay I keep seeing damn good fine art and collectibles.
I'm a toy nut so I collect them. Yet I've seen some hand crafted works ranging from leather jackets and saddles to awesome quilts. You can't beat the craftsmanship for sure. I did a design for a buckskin dress for a cousin who is Navajo. She hooked that two piece dress up like a mo'fo' and sold it in Greenwich Village NY for like $4,500 The model making nowadays is so fucking out there it's breathtaking. Especially the guys who make environments for their model trains and race car sets. The slot car and hot wheels and corgi car afficianados have gone totally outrageous with some kick ass lighting and other effects. Do you guys shop or do your wives shop for hand made crafts? |
I love handmade crafts, especially those with impressive aesthetic value. My girlfriend also loves collecting such stuff but not as serious on it.

ill show you something I collect cat paintings
http://i9.ebayimg.com/02/i/05/e4/fc/d0_1.JPG thats a copy, 1000s are made, sold on ebay for over 1k, worth approx 50 bucks, the poses of the cats are always the same, they paint 2-3 different kittens in 1 pose and move them around depending on the frame size, done in china, companies who work for masterart copiers do this aside. So its a 1k ripoff. You gotta be careful buying something like that. |
