Canadian Election Wishes!!!

Got this in an email from a friend today - thought it was funny :thumbsup

Martin, Harper and Layton are flying on the Executive Airbus to a
gathering in British Columbia when Martin turns to Harper and says,
chuckling,

"You know, I could throw a $1000 bill out the window right now
and make someone very happy."

Harper shrugs and replies, "Well, I could
throw ten $100 bills out the window and make ten people happy." Not to be
outdone,

Layton says, "Well I could throw a hundred $10 bills out the
window and make a hundred people happy."

The pilot rolls his eyes and says to his co-pilot, "Hell, I could throw all
three of them out the window and make 32 million people happy."

directfiesta 01-16-2006 08:31 AM

funny and true

Cman 01-16-2006 08:34 AM

yeah, pilot definetely wins that one.

i don't like any of them, but i dislike harper the most because of his resemblance to another nearby leader

SilentKnight 01-16-2006 08:40 AM

Good laugh.

I may not agree with everything the Green Party says - but they've never lied to me.

Goin' to vote at the advance polls later in the day. Green gets my little X this time 'round.

Bryan G 01-16-2006 08:59 AM

Kassidy 01-16-2006 09:30 AM

Claire Gosse 01-16-2006 09:56 AM

LOL:) I voted Green last election and they get my vote again this time.

Screaming 01-16-2006 10:00 AM

Lol not bad at all.

IWantU_Jeff 01-16-2006 02:15 PM

YAY PILOT!!!!! lol

TheLegacy 01-16-2006 02:19 PM

same with the green party - going to vote for them this time around... I have many tell me my vote is wasted - but I would rather vote based on what is the right thing to do then a 'bandwagon' approach. I don't need my vote to win, just be counted.

Your vote is not lost... It will count to determine the amount of funds they will get for the next election.

Thomas1007 01-16-2006 03:55 PM

:thumbsup lol good one, gotta remember this
:1orglaugh

je_rome 01-16-2006 05:21 PM

I'm sure every country has a local version of that joke.

LittleMack 01-16-2006 05:23 PM

You guys have a fucked up political environment up there also.

BradM 01-16-2006 05:27 PM

Voting conservative.

Voting green + NDP = waste of vote. Take polisci and you'll understand. Stop voting for 3rd and fouth rung parties.

PixeLs 01-16-2006 07:01 PM

Well, I'd be the happiest if he really did. Nice! :1orglaugh

I keep hearing that same thing from others - and I don't view it as a wasted vote. Its more of a protest vote. As TheLegacy says above, I basically vote by my conscience...which means I can't vote for a party that's demonstrated time and time again that it does nothing but lie to everyone.

Green Party hasn't a hope in hell of accomplishing anything, but they serve as a protest vote for those unhappy with the other three idiot contenders (I don't regard Ducieppe as a real party since they don't speak on a federal level).

I voted Green earlier this afternoon.

Now, if Peter McKay was at the helm instead of Harper, I'd consider the Tories someday. But Harper.......I simply don't trust the man.

leggs 01-16-2006 07:47 PM

I don't vote.

It doesn't make any difference at all.
In fact, democracy is a pathetic joke.

What will happen is it will be a minority goverment.

Harper will most likely form the next cabinet. And continue to push his "IT'S ALL ABOUT ME" agenda.

Spunky 01-16-2006 08:03 PM

Lol..either way we are still fucked whoever is Prime minister

What he said. Is there a forth option? How about no government at all?
I still haven't figured out what anyone does in Ottawa ...

I didn't used to think this way until I visited a few 3rd world countries, and realized how much in common we have with them.

I hate the way the Canadian government operates, my vote hasn't made a difference my whole life. Not much different from the guy sitting on the side of the street in Panama who was never given the chance.

We see about 10 countries each year.

And you know it's true.

Democracy is a joke. Your vote is useless and it won't make a damn bit of difference in your life or anyone elses.

For the most part, the only thing anyone is concerned with is that they have a roof over their head and food in their stomache.

And in countries like Canada, USA, England, etc. It's having something to watch on T.V and video game system.

After that, it doesn't matter what idiot is office. You still going to just eat, sleep, crap and fuck. And you will work until you're too old to work and die.

Then in 100 years no one will even know who the hell you were.

The Sultan Of Smut 01-16-2006 10:18 PM

I would vote for the Green Party but I don't want that cow Hedy Fry to win again so I guess I'll vote for Svend Robinson. I never thought I would ever vote NDP...

WME 01-17-2006 12:10 AM

what has happened to election nowadays? it has become a choice of the least evil.

:1orglaugh :1orglaugh

At least Svend only steals expensive jewellery, not comparable to the millions lost in the sponsorship scandal.

Christ, what sad and pathetic role models we have as so-called leaders. Lets all vote for the guy who stole the lesser amount in his last heist.

Kassidy 01-17-2006 12:47 AM

Canada is in a very bad place right now but I honestly believe that it's a shame not to vote. Our predecessors fought very hard for our rights, including that to vote. Hell, it wasn't all that many years ago that women couldn't vote at all.

Your vote is your voice and if you don't use it, you can't complain about how your country is being run. If every person in our country who said 'fuck it, my vote doesn't count anyway' VOTED, those votes would add up to a whole lot of something. Our younger citizens are so apathetic and disinterested in any subject besides 'me, me, me' that we're allowing the older, conservative, religious right to decide for us. Sad :(

arealnewbie 01-17-2006 12:50 AM

I don't EVER recall the Conservatives or the NDP EVER stealing anything.

Here's what the Liberals have done though:

1. Promised to eliminate the GST (Chretien) - never did it.
2. Sponsorship scandal - basically stealing millions of hard earned tax payers dollars and no get so much as a slap on the wrist for it.
3. Taken credit for the multi-Billions in surplus money, created by the GST, which by the way, actually was a creation of the Conservatives.
4. Enforced an immigration policy that allows every 3rd world shmo to come to Canada and rape the welfare system mercilessly while disallowing hard working, qualfied Europeans into the country.
5. Created a nice safe place for Al Qaida to set up shop and basically severely strain relations with the US.
6. Continually rob good social policies from the NDP and then claim it as their own when it goes right, but then blame the other parties if the policy flops.

If you are Canadian, you owe to yourself to vote - to speak up and defend the freedoms and rights of this great land, that you take for granted everyday of your life. You may not like ANY of the parties (I can't say that I blame you, really) but if you choose to pass up your DEMOCRATIC right, one day, it could be taken from you and then you will only have yourself to blame.

So vote - future generations are depending on you.
:thumbsup

Well said. :thumbsup

Shortbread 01-18-2006 12:13 AM

Honestly, i hope no one has forgotten what an asshat Brian Molruney was. He did nothing for our country, voting those fuckers in again will be a big mistake.

Man!!!

Have you ever been brain washed.

Politics and democracy is a lie and a sick joke.

I was born during Trudeau.
Suffered during Mulroney.
Danced to the music of Chretien.

And it has made no Fucking difference in my life or the average Canadian/Canadien.

These clowns don't give a shit about you or me anymore than George Bush does about killing civilians.

It's just a bunch of rich pigs in a highschool popularity contest. And they are the ones screaming "ME! ME! ME!" <<Stephen Harper the loudest.>>
