I'm sure he's glad that it's over, but they won if he takes the site completely down. Uncensored news should be just that. Allowing them to force him into closing the entire site down do to pressure is giving up his freedom of speech.

I know it's easy to talk the talk when you're not walking the walk.. I think I'm hard headed enough that I would leave that page up with out the adult material as he agreed upon.. But rather turn it into a political statement for freedom of speech.

But he would could have won, that's what pisses me off.

Well it was his fight and as I said it's easy to talk the talk if you don't have to walk the walk. Not everyone in this biz has the ability to fight off govt attacks like say Larry Flynt did. Sometimes you just have to know when it's best for yourself to back down.

Sometimes the only choice is to give in so you don't ruin the rest of your life. However you can always hit them back from behind once they stop beating on you.

That's why if it were me I'd turn the page into exactly what they don't want it to be.. A anti war statement and pro freedom of speech website.

As someone mentioned, move out. If it was my site, I would move. I make too much from my site to quit and work some 9 to 5 job. Way too much.

The only thing I agree is the 9-5! I could never go back to a 9-5 job I could NEVER make enough to pay a baby sitter and I would lose way too much time with my kids. If it was me, I could not move, having custody of two kids, family that depends on me, my mom is disabled and I have to help take care of her, and my grandparents so moving could never be a choice for me!

The goverment won. They got what they wanted and I think this is just the beginning. Probably pretty shortly we are going to hear about there next target. I understand why he settled. His family was probably going through hell, his life consisted of sitting in jail, probably looking at financial debt for years to come. The goverment is going to start targeting the little guy because they know that they will lose against people like Larry Flynt who have the money to fight them.
Fuck, if they did that to me I'd be bankrupt in a couple months trying to pay the legal bills and would have to settle. With a wife to take care off and kids to feed I wouldnt be able to afford the battle.

I dont blame him but all the attention the site has gotten I would turn it into a drudge report type site. The name is perfect for it and sell advertising, do google ad words .He would probably make more and doesnt have to deal with porn bullshit laws again. Thats what I would do.

Do you have a extra $250k or more that you don't mind pissing away? Cases like this cost a hell of a lot of money. In a case like this, you have to spend all that money just to prove you are innocent and the best part is... Even if you win, you don't get shit back..

Freedom of speech and Justice for all is only for the rich in America. If you don't have big bucks like I'm betting he doesn't, it's un likely you could stand up and fight a case like this with out financially ruining yourself for a very long time.

That being said, there are other ways to fight this kind of thing, and I for one would have never agreed to give up the domain name.

I have been in court before, sued and been sued. This wouldn't have cost $250K. If Chris is paying $250k for a lawyer, he has bigger problems than polk county.
