I wasn't mean to the homeless until I lived in Dallas... Those fuckers are out of control. I work hard for my money and the only person I would give it to or loan it to are friends and family. Not some piece of shit that I see on the street. They will lie, harass and cheat you in order to get your money and they just spend it on booze, smokes and other things that will only ensure they remain forever homeless. I have no sympathy for anyone that let's their life go that far in to the shitter.

Considering many of them are mentally disturbed I think it is a harsh characterization. I don't think you have to give them your hard earned money, but for the most part they don't deserve your hatred.

In the town I grew up in was a homeless woman called Grace. She was well known, lived on the streets for years even though she owned a huge property by the sea. She was totally mad though, would wander around with bags of newspaper, urinate in the middle of the highstreet and mumble odd stuff to passers-by. I heard she went mad after her husband left her for another woman..I guess she had a breakdown. One of the local hotels would take her in at Christmas time, give her a bath and food. Not seen her for years now; I heard she got the treatment she shoulda had a long time ago and got straightened out. She never begged like the others do. I'm surprised she was allowed to remain on the streets as long as she did.

you need come to atlanta and see some of the beggers we have here...MAYBE 1 in 30 will be handicapped or mental

most are just normal people like you and me, some even wear designer clothes

begging is a 9-5 job now here in Atlanta...it is SOOOOO out of control, that downtown atlanta now has a law against begging, if you are caught you could possibly spend a night in jail

They did the same thing with a panhandling law in Dallas, but the dipshit Mayor Laura Miller took it a little too far. The Dallas Firefighters Association used to take one week a year where off-duty firefighters would collect for charities on the street corners in a "Fill the Boot" campaign. Miller would not allow a "permit" for them to continue this under the panhandling laws. As a result the collection efforts went from over a million a year, to under $50k. :Oh crap

Yep, they harrass a lot here in Dallas. There is a car wash near me and I constantly get harrassed for money.
