Vanilla TGP - Problem with ImageMagick
All modules are installed and I went over it with webair 300 times... I see all the image magick stuff in /usr/local/bin yet for some reason I keep getting this error message
"Failed to resize a test image. Please check if you have the latest Image Magick version, if the path is correct, and if the user apache runs as is allowed to use it." It IS the latest ImageMagick Version The Path IS Correct No problems with apache's permissions to run it Anyone have any idea what's going on here ? |
are you on shared hosting?
|
Dedicated Box ...
|
are you running virtual domains or one single domain on the box. i had a problem because i had to execute a link to the file in the domain and not /usr/local/bin directly.
also did you chown the folder the thumbs are going into to apache? just a few issues I've had with ImageMagick |
Ïmagemagick SUCKS ... (!)
Tried on my Win 2003 box, my FreeBSD box, and the shit does NOT work whatever the permissions I set. Too bad Typo3 users really want this lame tool... |

Not sure what you mean by execute in a domain, the script calls for a server path ... No way to chown the folders when I don't know where it is generating the test files ... which it doesn't state. In the domain all folders have the proper permissions though |

I agree I have had problems with it in the past as well, unfortunately Vanilla TGP requires it... You can't just disable the thumb cropping utility even temporarily .. You must have this to do the install itself :( Maybe I'lll just use different software - what a shame as I liked the way it looks... I never have problems doing simple php installs like this, I have spent 4 hours + on this today dealing with Web Air and making sure everything was in order including all paths etc... I had it all right from the get go |
when do you get that error?
when using mogrify? or what? |
During the initial install ..
I guess it doesn't matter much I just noticed in the members area their staff wont be around to send out activation for either paid or free versions till the 21st. You woudl think they would pay a friend $50 to answer e-mails for activations during the week they are on vacation... There was another REALLY NICE looking program that I saw one TGP using.. Was newer and used on a bigger TGP, can't rememebr what it was called though. It was the first time (and only) I had seen a submit form similar to theirs ... It wasn't cheap - if I remember right $600 or so for the paid version... What all options are there out there if anyone cares to list them ... I Know Comus, X3, Vanilla off hand ... And i have seen a few others out there just dont know the names off hand .. |
