Fuck Dell!!!!!

I sent my laptop in for repairs on December 10th and they said they would get it back to me within 5 to 7 business days.

It is now January 15th I still do not have my laptop and I called many times, everytime I get a different excuse, and the latest excuse is, since it is an out of warranty repair they outsource the repairs. The outsourced company has no record of my laptop.

They had no problem charging my credit card for the repairs.

I guess I will have to put it in the hands of my attorney.

Anyone else have any horror stories with Dell.

You already have record that dell charged you, dell also seems to have no qualms about telling you they got the laptop and sent it elsewhere for out of warranty repairs. So they have already admitted to getting the laptop and taking responsibility for it.
Now why in the hell would you turn this over to your attorney? It is at most a few grand value if that. You can easily get this resolved yourself and unless your attorney is prepaid or it costs you basically nothing to use him what would you expect him to do that would be worth the cost?

I spilled coffee on my laptop once and when I called dell support to let them know what happend and that I wanted to send it in for them to fix the guy asked ME what was wrong with the computer. I told him that the keyboard was busted and possibly something else inside the laptop had been ruined as well. So he tells me to open up the laptop and check exactly what's wrong with it so he can give me an estimate of how much it's gonna cost to get fixed.

I ask him why they cant just come pick it up, look inside, fix what's wrong and then send me the bill. That's how normal repairs work. No, they have a system when they estimate how much its going to cost before they come pick it up so you'll agree to pay the cost.

So, I tell him I dont give a shit how much it's going to cost because I need it fixed regardless. They then charge me something like $1500, pick up the computer and exchange the keyboard for a cost of like $100. Then I had to chase some fucking dell douchebag around to get the rest of my money back which took like 2 weeks.

Dell is a good company. The only thing I have never liked about them is the warranty. If you get the im home service, that is great, ( BUT THEY DONT OFFER IT IN ALL AREAS of the US. ) So you have to send them the puter.

As for the thread starter. Hope you did not have any porn on that thing.

I did not have any porn on it.

The reason why I am upset is the fact that I get different answers everytime I call, I have called about 10 times and I swear I received a different excuse everytime.

Actually yes he could file a small claims case if he wanted. If of course he could not get ahold of Dell in the US and have them 3 way him with the repair center to get the required info etc.

Dell has quality products but their customer support is the worst
