Firewire will stream it steadily into your PC. |
Man I'm so behind. I don't think any of my notebooks have any Wirefire port in them, luckily I don't do any video transfers...

MiniDV Camcorder ;)
|
Firewire for all DV digital imports, and USB2 for pretty much everything else.
|
I am using a 250GB lacie firewire drive on my laptop and my other machines at home when I am there
Firewire is faster than USB 2 I think, I use it for DV camcorder as well. I had my XP machines linked by TCP/IP over Firewire link before but I didn't notice it was any faster than 100mbps ethernet. |
for Pyro/AV link ... Video capture/transfer
|
I transfer video to my pc all the time using a USB device. It is just family video.
|
I use it for the DV camera transfers. Although some of my Ext HD's could use it, I generally have them USB2. They still are nice and fast.
But mainly cam to PC video is the application for firewire. :pimp |
That's all we use to digitize our video for editing in the Avid's.
