MiniDV to Computer question
Can I be running mad tasks such as photoshop image batching, date moving, downloading, etc while transfering a high quality miniDV video from my camcorder to computer or will it cause the video to mess up?

You might lose frames.

Alright I will run it over night then. Thanks

even with the fastest computer isnt not recommended to do other tasks while capturing footage
|
I wouldn't recommend Photo Shop tasks because it can be quite hoggish, but downloading shit and surfing and such I do all the time when I capture mini dv with no problems. When you are just capturing run your windows task manager and you can see that capturing mini dv with fire wire does not take many resources at all. Very minimal actually. I'd capture the video to a separate drive though than what the OS is on. Try it and find out.

Alright yah I thought that might have been a bad idea. Also I am capturing the video's with Windows Movie Maker as the highest quality AVI and then work with it from there. I am going to try to get premiere on this computer soon, when I do, what is the absolute best format to save the file to the computer with? Or is what I am doing with Movie Maker good enough?
