Our standard domestic beers may taste like piss IE budweiser, coors, Natty Ice, etc...but its the strength of our local breweries and microbreweries that rank us among the top world wide...the dutch probably don't drink much heinekens do they...

When I was in the Hard Rock amsterdam I noticed most dutch drinking bud actually....

Apparently Corona is full of dirty mexicans urine

In finland there's no point selling foreign beers (except in irish pubs or so), mainly because Finnish beer is superior to others. :)

From Vancouver's guide for visiting American Beer drinkers;

"In some US states, including California, beer with a 5% alcohol content cannot be called beer. It has to be called stout, lager, ale or something else. So if you're used to drinking American beer, you may be in for a surprise with the stronger Canadian beer. This beer tates like alcohol...not beer. When I want something stronger than beer, I choose wine, or if I want to get something even strong, I drink vodka.

Beer is good when its at about 5% of alcohol.

I agree... I was just letting all the non-U.S. GFYers know that you can get beer of any caliber in the states. In any case, I live in Canada now and half the beer up here (Molson, etc.) is just as bad if not worse than Bud and Coors. Actually it seems like most of the Canadians drink U.S. beer anyway.

it is totaly untrue that canadians drink more american beer especialy in quebec where we have the best beer in the world =)
Molson is one of are major brands but is drank more by americans then canadians if you ask a canadian what he drinks he will shot out some microbrewrie

THe fact is canadians and quebecers drink allot and are beer is usualy a good 3% stronger then american beer we truly love are beer and take it very seriously like are hockey

Imagine the following and you get an idea what American beer tastes like:

- Fill a pint Glass 80% full with Molson Canadian.

- Add 10-15% tap water

- Take a piss and shake off the extra drips into the beer.

=1 Bud

I will start out by saying that I am a beer snob.

Now, with that done, I used to live in Windsor, which is right next door to Detroit. Canadian and US major label beer is much the same.. There is some taste differences, but it is much the same.. Labatt Blue or Bud, they're both piss.

However, going over into Detroit for dinner was great, as I would get to have some VERY nice Michigan micro brewed stuff. I've had beer and Cider no one has heard of, and it was great.

So, not all US beer is piss. Major label stuff is, but a lot of your microbreweries kick ass.
