Cipro would be antibiotic overkill for most infections. Plus each infection has given antibiotics to use on them and you always want to go with the least powerful one unless you really wish to possibly make your body immune to the stronger meds that you may need some day. Oh an a yeast infection is fungal.

Why use a nuke when an bullet will do?

BTW yes Juicy, men can get yeast infections. Thrush is a common form of a oral yeast infection.

Does it burn when you pee? :helpme

Elli 01-14-2006 05:37 PM

Oh yes. It will itch and burn and turn red like a mofo. Best thing you can do is pick up some Monistat creme and use that for a few days. The creme made for guys doesn't do much. And don't touch the girl again until you're both cleaned up. :)

cipro is one of the worst antibiotics to treat yeast infections (for women) and in fact can cause predispose to more yeast infections.

fris 01-14-2006 05:41 PM

yes i had one :) i had a sort of rash under my arm, it was burning red. went to see the doctor she said it was a yeast infection, got cream for like 2 weeks.

xclusive 01-14-2006 05:43 PM

yup thank god i've never gotten one though

loxapinedreams 01-14-2006 06:30 PM

yes you can get a yeast infection...
if the fungus has a means to stay 1-warm 2-live is a wet environment 3-eat sugar it will continue live. how does this apply to the body?? easy... 1 warm.. human body is a nice 37 cel or 98.6 f and its constant.. it goes up.. the body has a fever.. fever is the body's first line of killing off bacteria. since fungus is not a bacteria.. its doesnt trigger the fever response til its in a grand scale. 2-live in a wet environment .. well the body is wet for the most part.. the mouth .. urethrea, anus , armpits, toes are always the best place for it to thrive. Your episode of thrush was the perfect example of this. males can get yeast in their penis.. rare but it does occur. 3-sugar.. most body fluids have a degree of sugar so it eats very well.

Now taking cipro????? Not.. cipro is an antibiotic.. and will not necessary work. flagyl is the yeast killer. you know that meconizole cream for atheletes foot? that is a weak cousin of flagyl.

but juicy hit me up on icq please.. there is a few thing to discuss and this place is not the place to discuss it.

butterflybucks 01-14-2006 06:45 PM

Ask Pillsbury!

DWB 01-14-2006 06:45 PM

***CIPRO IS NOT A TREATMENT FOR YEAST***

ciprofloxacin is an antibiotic used to treat BACTERIAL infections, and as a few others here have said it's rather broad spectrum and will kill all sorts of bacteria in your body, (including the good stuff in your gut that helps keep your poop regular) which can in turn cause the natural balance of bacteria v. fungus in your body to be upset - creating more yeast.

yeast is fungus, so you need an anti-fungal treatment for it, they come in creams over the counter and pill form with prescription. beyond that, i don't know how anyone here is diagnosing juicy with anything, he hasn't mentioned any symptoms, or even that he's asking the question for himself.

juicy, if you are asking this question for yourself please see a doctor as i assume this is something occuring between your legs (not thrush of the mouth/tongue, for instance - which is a yeast infection of the mouth) and it could very well be an STD, UTI, yeast infection, or somet other kind of infection. GFY doctors don't know enough to protect your cock. see a real doc! :2 cents:

Good Advice tASSy..........Juicy, you Will have to whip out your dick for the doc for a proper diagnosis. I am sure he is already thoroughly familiar with it. Meanwhile dont jump off any chairs, it might fall off.:Graucho

Yeast infection in men is an early sign of type 2 diabetes. Might wanna get your A1C checked to be on the safe side juicy.

Pornwolf 01-14-2006 07:02 PM

I am a GFY doctor and my official recommendation is to go with what Tassy said.

Wiggles 01-14-2006 08:22 PM

DWB 01-14-2006 08:40 PM

again....

you have to use a cream called "gynelotrimin" to get rid of the yeast build up in the head and foreskin of your penis.

Moraxian 01-14-2006 08:51 PM

1) Yes a guy can get a yeast infection
2) It can lead to a severe urinary tract condition (which is a bitch to get rid of)
3) Get checked out NOW

Back in March of '03 I began to feel a little discomfort urinating on a Monday evening.. by Wednesday afternoon I was in the ER because I was pissing coagulated blood. Don't wait on this... seriously.

BigCashCrew 01-14-2006 10:23 PM

Did Vinny get a yeast infucktion? That guys gotta slow down.
