Any one here have a contact that works? Another spam in my box from them tonite and we're going to see if the name holds true.

Hun's got a good idea, more of us should start img scr ing the spammer's servers. No website - no money - no more spam. least thats the theory..........

I don't know who that is but I am being spammed like a bict by this one here:

And I KNOW for a fact this email wasn't gotten from any opt-in list as I ONLY use the one being spammed here on the actual site and nowhere else.

I have been spammed by this one 5 times today and 4 yesterday...... it's gettin real damn old. Don't even think of blocking the email, they just get new ones. LOL

I just say the reality...

If the recent fall of Global Crossing has taught us anything, it's taught us that bandwidth is a commodity available in excess these days. I don't think you'll really get to someone through an image src... Unless they're some poor schmoe on a narrow piece of pipe.

depends on the traffic levels. many big sites (even little ones like mine too)are on a lot more than one just server. If a spammer has only on or two sevrers they get overloaded

Its not the bandwidth, its the server. Most mass spammers dont really use much bandwidth it more a function of cpu's and all. so the proper img src ing would kill the server...see what I mean...??

Until I was able to setup countermeasures, I knew what it meant to feel the wrath of a couple of password crackers working through open proxies.

Unfortunatly, most real spammers has a big network of servers...thats why it would be hard to make them go down...

And if you try to attack one big spammer, he will react by doiing 1 or 2 things...

1- Sue your ass for attacking his servers.
2- Hotlink all your images in his e-mails....and if he is a real spammer that sends 30-50 millions real e-mails daily, you will see that your bill will bo up really quick.

...and you wont be able to attack him back by saying that spamming is illegal...since it is not...

Now, think twice before hotlink spammers...

P.S: I am not a spammer, I just know some big ones and trust me, I would never try to attack them...

I think spam and porn are two evils forever linked at the hip. I've yet to hear of a "big" sponsor that doesn't engage in somewhat-sketchy email marketing.

I'm reminded by a scene in "Network" where poor "madman of the airwaves" Howard Beale is told by the CEO of the multi-national power before him: "You have meddled with the primal forces of nature."

Names man names.. No spammer would sue ANYONE - cause he would have to give his name out. There are people out there that HATE spammers soooooooo much that all spammers are in HIDING and if their name and address got out it would be VERY dangerous for them with all the psychos out there in anti spam so they would NEVER NEVER sue cause it would tell you who they are.

If a spammmer sued me I'm ensure EVERYONE on the planet knew who that spammer was. - address and all. End of problem.

Spammers can make money, but a lot of times it is at the expense of their hosting company.

Not really true...
Most of the time, small spammers does not use any hosting...but use sponsors that accepts spam.

And big spammers has their own sponsorship programs ,...and they have waaaaaaaay enough sales to pay for their expensive hosting...

Today its so easy to manipulate with email headers

For all that I know I could send 100,000 emails in 5 minutes that would look like you send them from your smtp or sendmail

I can live with a lil spam but fucking 10 times a day and not being able to unsubscribe or call them is too much!
