All the reasons why mainstream is where it's at.

I was in adult for years. Everywhere I went, people were trying to stop me. Didn't matter where. If I tried to get financing for anything, and they wanted to verify my income - they wanted to check references of where it came from. Apartments, home loans, credit cards, autos, whatever. I ran into obstacles like crazy. Everyone wanted to give me hell for being in adult. Even if I never told anyone, they'd figure it out somehow.

But now I'm in mainstream. Nobody stops me, in fact people are constantly trying to help me. Everybody loves what I do now. People don't try to fuck with me. I don't get fucked up phonecalls from religious psychos. Nobody's holding my ass back for 'moral' reasons. And my phone still rings like crazy, and this time the customers are paying even bigger bucks.

Traffic sources are INFINITE. I can literally pull it from anywhere I want.

:)

Congrats. Do you have any tips for those wanting to go into mainstream?

Are you selling your own products/services/subscriptions, or as an affiliate working on generating traffic?

Sure, I'm reading a book called The Magic of Thinking Big. I recommend everyone go out and buy it. It basically talks about the philosophy I use in my own life.

Most of what it talks about is "Believe you can succeed, and you will". But I pretty much came to that philosophy while I was honing my adult business. I'm now applying all of the things I learned in adult, to mainstream business.

I don't exactly want to say what I'm selling, but I will say I'm not doing it online. Only a small portion of my business will be generated online. The bulk of it will be generated in person.

One of the really - really cool things about mainstream, is that I have no limits. I can hand someone a flier, and they'll say "wow that's cool!" Instead of "You fucking pervert."

The possibilities blow my mind.

real phsyical businesses have a lot more risk (in my opinion) and requires much more investment to startup. i think a lot of people trying to make money online are here or started here at least because they didn't have the cash or know-how to start a 'brick and mortor' business. i mean, i was a dead broke kid when i started doing this. i know this is not the case for all and some come in investing a ton of cash but typically part of the draw was the limited risk and initial investement in the early days at least.

Starting with little or no money can make it tougher, even 3 years later. I will have to say this though. I would be making 3 times what I do today if I didn't take a year off to build a brick and mortar business.

But in the end, everything is mine and I make all the decisions and I own everything I invest in. I have no debts to anyone that could potentially set me back or harm my business. If I had borrowed money or partnered up (and I have turned down some deals with a few big cats in this biz) I would be in debt and sharing my income.

I am glad I started with nothing.

I do wish to go mainstream though, I have been slowly heading in that direction.

I do a bit of mainstream but it has to fit around my adult work so it doesn't get nearly as much attention as it should.
