does anyone else get sms spam from a company with crazy bot reply messages and can't get them to stop. i hardly ever use text messaging on my phone and have never signed up for any txt message service outside of adding text emssaging to my verizon account. i searched the short code and this is what google gave me. i can't find anyway to pursue them.
SMS OPERATOR CHAT - SHORT CODE 22428 OPCHAT is a service allowing users a chance to communicate (converse) with live operators employed by the service provider. Some examples: ? Live Psychics: the user sends in an SMS message with a question, and the psychic operator replies with his/her advice; they go back and forth; ? Virtual Buddy (or Virtual Boyfriend, Virtual Girlfriend): people feeling lonely can strike up conversations with the operators at any time they feel like; ? Confessions: people who are not into traditional, institutional religions, but feel a need to unburden themselves can do so anonymously to an SMS operator; ? Advice Line (dietary, sports, lifestyle advice): users can ask the operator to provide them with advice about what to eat, how to do exercises, etc. The primary advantages of the 'OPCHAT' system: 1. History An operator chat application can only be successful if the service provider?s system allows the operator taking a message at any given time to access the sender?s history in the system. For example, in a ?virtual friend? application, even though it might be a different operator conversing with a given user every day, he/she has to be consistent with whatever has been said previously. US Cellnet?s system identifies users by their mobile phone numbers (MIN). When a message arrives, the system immediately displays the entire history of chat conversations with that user/MIN and allows the operator to attach his/her own comments, so the next operator can access helpful notes/comments about the user. any smart sms people here? i've never sent a message to any of these stupid services. |
T-Minus 5 minutes before someone says the expected joke "sorry i'll stop sending them"
