Mouse inside of bread ! (pic)

One lady bought a bread. In the morning were preparing snacks for kids. Something wrong with this bread, she thought. The bread was stuffed with mouse! :(

Vegetarians, be careful even bread may not be safe for you!

Grossssssss

Quagmire 01-11-2006 06:36 AM

You should look up the regulations that govern food production. They are allowed specific percentages of contaminants which most hover just below. They don't aim for 100% clean, they aim for just below the legal limit.

THAT is gross.

lmao...business don't give a shit either. As long as you are still willing to shell out that dollar, they'll do whatever they can to cut corners.

Story #1: I worked as a dishwasher about 14 years ago in a restaurant on Hatteras Island that recieved a CLASS C rating from the health department. If you ate from the breakfast buffet, you'd have a case of Montezuma's Revenge the likes of which you may have never before experienced. One half of the restaurant was a regular dine in joint, the other side was a popular local bar. It was my job one day to clean out the steamers, where the bar section of the restaurant served 10 cent shrimp at night. There were enough roaches at the bottom of the steamer to fill a cereal box. I quit the same day, and almost lost my lunch in the process.:)

Story #2: My very first job was at McDonalds. That's right, flippin' burgers. I was doing it with a work permit when I was 16 for some extra cigarette money. We sometimes would drop burgers/nuggets/fries/whatever in nasty places on accident. Managers knew it happened. They didn't care. I once dropped about 6 patties beside the grill in the middle of a lunch rush. 5 landed on the floor beside the grill and 1 landed in the grease catch that hadn't been cleaned that day. My MANAGER took all 6 over to the sink, washed them to get any "floor chunks" off em, and threw em back on the grill. Guess where they went next? "Bun please!!"

It makes it hard to ever eat anything that I didn't personally make or watch being made. Most restaurants are fucking disgusting behind the scenes. Restaurants being nasty don't particularly relate to this topic as the bread was made in a factory type setting, but still, food that's been prepared by someone else behind closed doors creeps me out.

MattOT 01-11-2006 07:09 AM

I wonder how many slices the mouse went through lol

wyldblyss 01-11-2006 07:13 AM

I have never had the joy of working in fast food or restaurant, but I avoid eating there as much as possible. I have heard lovely stories just like yours more times than I can count. I used to work in rush delivery in the Toronto area so I was constantly at places with mechanical breakdowns and I'd get to see what was going on.

I could tell a few pleasant stories about Maple Leafs Foods in Mississauga. :)

Spunky 01-11-2006 07:21 AM

I'm pretty sure the people who eat Maple Leaf's Foods would rather you didn't. :winkwink: But I enjoy a good "nasty shit I seen that people get away with" story. Do tell. :)

Not being a dick, so don't take it the wrong way please. If you are still learning english, it's "Gross". No "e"...double "s". Use it in another sentence today with the correct spelling and it will be with you forever. :thumbsup

Luc 01-11-2006 07:47 AM

what are you guys complaining about. you get free meat with your bread. just put some jelly over that shit and you got yourself a great breakfast.

BuggyG 01-11-2006 08:14 AM

hehehe
one of my first jobs was working in a kitchen
and damn.. I wouldn't eat like most times unless I cooked the food myself

most of the staff was like that
we'd cook our own meals
wouldn't trust the chefs there

many times.. food on floor.. ahh just pick it up and clean it

need glasses for the bar.. rinse them out fast with hot water
fuck the soap
no time to go thru the dishwasher
etc.. etc..

Matt 26z 01-11-2006 08:34 AM

The bad thing about being cut up horizontally in there like that is you could have eaten the entire tail before getting to the piece where it's ass starts.

ichauch 01-11-2006 08:48 AM

Expo_Vids 01-11-2006 06:08 PM

The worst offenders are the high priced restaurants becase their product is so much more expensive. They don't want to throw anything away.

If a chef drops an expensive steak or fish on the floor then he is more likely to just pick it up and throw it back on the grill than if a kid at McDonalds drops a burger.

I worked my way through college in nice restaruants in South Beach so I saw it happen all the time.
