Arnold 'Never Thought' About Motorcycle Permit ( pic )

Quote:

SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- The governator said he doesn't have a motorcycle license because "he never thought about it."

California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger rides his Harley Davidson routinely along the California coast but said he never bothered with a motorcycle license.

Schwarzenegger's lip has 15 stitches after a collision between a car and his motorcycle. His 12-year-old son was riding in a sidecar and was treated for cuts and bruises.

A spokeswoman said the governor's driver's license permits him to drive a motorcycle with a sidecar. But she concedes he may have been riding illegally for years because he lacks the endorsement letting him ride without a sidecar.
I like the guy... maybe not qualified for the job, but he is basically frank and honest ... A good person. :2 cents:

Spunky 01-10-2006 08:16 PM

Gramps should let his limo driver do his job and stay off the road

Bluewire Ross 01-10-2006 08:18 PM

get off the road...it's not a hollywood shoot!

I think this is one of the funniest statements ever! Although I really like Arnold, I think it's funny that the law makers and shakers never seem to think anything applies to them...must be nice to have enough money not to care about anything.

One of these days I'll be there! :upsidedow

Martin3 01-10-2006 08:20 PM

Thats one of those laws no one really gives a shit about, cops included usually.

MikeyFingaz 01-10-2006 08:22 PM

he's lucky... banginbecky suffered a BROKEN NECK from a bike accident... luckily she had a helmet...

i guess the the terminator is tuff enough to get by without one, lol.

pornguy 01-10-2006 08:23 PM

He should have known better, and I am surprised that it did not come up during the elections that he rode his bike with out the motorcycle license.

Maybe in TX they don't care . . . they do here.

Pornwolf 01-10-2006 09:59 PM

Who the hell gets a motorcycle license? It's kinda goes against the whole rebel feel of riding one anyway.

Only an idiot rides without one. Its too easy to get ran over by cars, and when you get hit and you dont have a license to be there in the first place, it generaly gets worse from there. In Vegas, they will arrest you and impound your bike for not having a motorcycle endorsement on your license.

In Dallas, TX you could ride a 2,000cc 6-cylinder motorcycle and legally NOT wear a helmet. But if the cops caught you riding a single-speed BICYCLE without a helmet, they could write you a ticket.

Go figure. And people wonder why I had no problem moving to Northern California. :1orglaugh

p.s. - When I was in Texas, and rode a motorcycle, I never had a license for it either. But I did wear a helmet. My State Farm agent never even bothered to ask if I had a motorcyle license too. :winkwink:

Jarmusch 01-10-2006 11:10 PM

Can you imagine your car being hit by the Terminator? I would crap myself.

AsianDivaGirlsWebDude 01-11-2006 12:33 AM

Although many of Arnold's films are entertaining (especially T2), he really sucks as an "actor". The same is true of his Governorship. It's entertaining at times, but basically he sucks at it, which is why the voters struck down all of the expensive propositions he put on the special election ballot the last time around.

Anyone that drives a motorcycle knows you need a motorcycle license. By his ridiculous statement, Arnold demonstrates once again that he is both an elitist (who feels he is above the law), and an idiot.

My brother and I have had a Motorcycle License since we were 16,
And our own Governor doesn't have one.

I like the guy too, but this is just Crazy!

Next time I get pulled over, I'm gonna let that cop hear me out.

Cali has a state wide law about bicycle helmets.
Was bored so I looked it up
http://www.smf.org/laws.html

I didn't even know we had a law for it in Houston...another *cycle law no one around here seems to give a shit about :1orglaugh

considering he appears in movies like he knows motorcycles and fighter jet planes

baddog 01-11-2006 02:19 AM

He is a fucking idiot as a governor, and was a lousy actor. There is a reason his lines consisted solely of single syllable words.

LAPD is going to be in his shit about not having a license and I love it.

Vitasoy 01-11-2006 02:44 AM

So much for being an example..

Don't you get it? He is above the law when it comes to silly things like traffic violations / licensing. What do you think, a cop is going to pull him over and write him a ticket / impound his bike? :1orglaugh
