Jamie, that is one helluva deal you got goin on over there at Thumbserver. I notice you are on Verio's network, does that deal include their pipes as well or is it another connection?

If you are looking for a smaller package, they look like a good deal. With us, it is $50 for 100 GB Transfer, Unlimited Storage, and Unlimited Domains. You also get IMAP email, MYSQL, PHP, CGI, yadayadayada.

Thanks for that quick reply, but you only answered the cogentco 1/2 of the question. What percentile is the bandwidth measured at?? 50, 75, 90, 95 ???what is it??

Dynamic Hosting "per gig pricing" is based on AVERAGE usage, not percentile of burst, so you pay for your actual usage.

GigHost works the same way, actual account transfer amounts are calculated and reported daily, so you are billed for each Gig tranferred there as well. Again, here you pay for actual usage...if one day you peak higher than normal, you're only billed for the additional transfer of that day, it doesn't reflect on the rest of the month's costs.

These options give the client a lot more flexibility, since you only pay for what you use (we bill on 1 GB increments) and aren't restricted by any caps (other than your pocketbook and the server's limitations).

Let me know if you would like yet more clarification. :)

Why doesn't gighost have a secure signup?

There have been some issues with with Secure Form, so we've currently been taking signups via phone and fax. The Secure Form should be fixed and online within the next 48 hours.

I could say "check the sig" but your best bet is ask anyone but a host! See what thier experiences are, but dont take just one persons word on it! Get a few, or take a chance if you find something you like, most hosts are month to month so never a commitment.......
