Google's Video Threatening Adult Sites?
 

Hey guys, I think video.google.com might be threatening adult sites.

i tested it ut from the beginning. The content is all USER submitted.. not like an SE..

When you submit videos it has category based sections, and one of them is "ADULT"

I submitted several adult videos for inclusion, and after considerable waiting period they were all accepted.. top rank on mst adult terms , but after a month they pulled all of the listing and said " innapropriate content "

I think at some point they will start adding adult,

They also have a section setup to charge PPV for your videos , but that isnt setup yet ( they are probably trying to integrate it into google payment systems )

Got away with some, others not.
 

I submitted up some trailers for our sites and some events and they were mostly accepted... but no sexual content, please - they'll pass them at first (I think hardcore must be screened out immediately) but the softer-core stuff goes through.

Then I think they have a manual, detailed process that ended up getting the submission dropped because my one shot of a nipple being sucked was probably too explicit.

There was also another that featured just lingerie nudity and it got dropped.

But other stuff, just suggestive stuff (like bra&panties with a vibrator sliding down past the navel) or sexy stuff is aloud to stay. And you can totally keyword the pieces, and add full transcripts so that the video is searchable - they index the thing every minute or so. Really cool.

I like - though the adult aspect will have to be addressed sooner or later.

BTW it's a pretty lazy way to convert your mmv and avi files to flash. Just a couple days, you get an email, you go to the link, and save....

You may want to give http://www.veoh.com a try. As far as I know, they are the only of this type site that is "adult friendly"

I watched a bunch of old Black Sabbath concert videos earlier on Google video. :thumbsup
