Just finsihed playing a few rounds. That's one that holds up even after all these years.

If you've got an old XBox laying around now that you've got the 360, I can show you a pretty easy way of setting it up to play all the old arcade and console games. Doesn't even require a mod chip and a few other GFYers can vouch it works :winkwink:

My 360 is only getting played at the moment because it's back at my girl's house and her kid is all over it. My XBox keeps me more than occupied.

Booger 01-09-2006 12:17 PM

ya mean to tell me im the only one who still plays DIG DUG?

Is Bubble Bubble out on one a theese new "plug in to your tv"-joysticks ??

FelixFlow 01-09-2006 12:34 PM

the "plug into your TV" joystick things kind of suck, cause when you move the joystick the base unit moves too...so, sometimes the joystick doesnt move but just titls over the base to the side

the only way to go, is to get a standup arcade unit

:)

LiveDose 01-09-2006 12:57 PM

So many quarters dropped into those machines... fun.

Evil Chris 01-09-2006 01:45 PM

sickkittens 01-09-2006 02:05 PM

I played Donkey Kong recently @ Dave and Busters. It's amazing how we thought that was so great (graphically) back in the day.

That's my all time favorite arcade game. Another great game is call APB.

Modded XBox + Emulators = Gaming Nirvana

sweetME 01-09-2006 04:01 PM

Unfortunately, I don't remember those games. In 1980 I was only 2. They look so simple and uninteresting though.

MrPheer - i've been meaning to get my ass in gear to build a MAME upright like that... any advice? plans? pics of the finished system?

What controller did you wind up going with? home grown or xarcade or slikstik????

bhutocracy 01-09-2006 04:25 PM

Galaga 88 is possibly one of the best games ever. I very nearly got a refurbished coffeetable version a few years ago.

get fucked, if you were born in the 70's and don't remember those games you don't get to have an opinion on whether they were interesting or not.

blazi 01-09-2006 04:29 PM

I was born in the 70's and can remember all of those games like it was yesterday hehe

KRL 01-09-2006 04:30 PM

As simplistic as they were, even today they are still fun to play.

:)

je_rome 01-09-2006 04:42 PM

I used to play those games in my Game & Watch

http://www.jimzip.com/images/blog/octopus.jpg

candyflip 01-09-2006 04:44 PM

I have access to a CNC router and plenty of materials.

Where can I find plans for a MAME cabinet?

FelixFlow 01-09-2006 05:48 PM

Do you have some pics of the finished version, that you can post??
