Posting Movie Gals to TGPs/MGPs

I know this guy who owns a popular TGP - and he has started to refuse posting movie galleries on it because he reckons he needs a licence of some kind to post links to the said movie galleries. Something to do with a copyright on some movie formats?

Anyone know if this is true - I post links to movie galleries on my TGPs - and I never thought there was a problem.
